Back in Ebisugaoka town, walk away from Chizuruya General Store and head northeast to Rinko's house. Along the way, you'll encounter multiple Kashimashi that will pose a threat to you. You'll be greeted by a brief cutscene upon reaching the field's outskirts.
Continue northwest through the fields, until you reach the garden. Approach the well adjacent to the storeroom door and attempt to grab the key from the small toolbox at its lip. This will trigger another cutscene where Hinako comes face to face with the Ara-Abare.

Before you reach the fields, you can do a little detour to the north and find a house with an accessible ladder to its right side. Climb it and enter the house to obtain the Pine Omamori, some notes and a radio broadcast.

Before heading north to Rinko's house in New Game+, you can encounter a Research Journal heading to the main road, near a house and on a table. It has clues and details about the Sacred Sword, making this part of your search easier.

Go to the northern shrine once again in New Game+ to get some new collectibles including modified notes, a Rusted Flask for use in a shrine offering and other collectibles.

You wlll also be able to find a 2nd Jizo Statue where you can offer the Rusted Flask, progressing the Sacred Sword puzzle further.

Located on the east of the fields before reaching the Ara-Abare boss fight, you can encounter a UFO Poster related to the Great Space Invasion movie. This poster must be the first poster you find between a series of three posters for the the game's UFO Ending.
The Ara-Abare is a large monstrous entity that has a slow attack speed, and will occassionally let out a roar to disorient you. It takes its time to recover after striking with a melee attack, so use this opening to circle behind it and land hits safely.
Stay alert when it charges its tentacled hand, as it can lash out and grab Hinako from a distance. Once the monster is defeated, turn the well’s crank to pull up the storeroom key that fell at the bottom.
Ara-abare First Boss Fight Guide

Open the storehouse lock with the key that you obtain, and lift up bundled wooden planks blocking the path to your left. Afterwards, jump out of the window on Shu's signal before the two Kashimashi in the room attack you. Then, head to Rinko's House while following behind Shu.

Approach the faceless scarecrow in the center of the field to collect a note containing the first puzzle clue. Scattered behind it are dormant Ayakakashi, which are scarecrow-like entities, each with a thorn-like flashcard embedded in their side. Note that this section will have different solutions depending on your puzzle difficulty.
Your goal is to locate the correct Ayakakashi and remove its flashcard. Doing so will cause it to point you toward the next group, guiding you through the puzzle. Be careful though, as removing a flashcard from the wrong scarecrow will make it hostile and start attacking you.

After solving the Fields Puzzle, Hinako will be directly in front of Rinko's house. Approach the house with Shu and be greeted with a cutscene where they are both reunited with Rinko.
Although, as the group begins their journey out of the monster-ridden town, Hinako is implied to be pushed down the stairs, sending her back into the sinister clutches of the Dark Shrine and its winding Corridors.

|
| Description | A giant, repulsive lump of flesh that is filled to the brim with a maniacal anger. It howls awfully as it swings its large knife in any which direction. Its unfettered anger is no different from that of a wild animal... No. It's far worse than that. |
The Ara-abare with its hulking form will serve as the area's only boss enemy, dealing slow and powerful swings with its greatsword. Watch out for its tentacled arm and exploit any openings while it recovers from a heavy melee attack to defeat it!

Be sure to be in NG+ to access the Rusted Flask. While heading to Rinko's House during Chapter 3, head to the forest path north of Ebisugaoka.
The Rusted Flask should be lying on a gravestone surrounded by tiny white fox figurines. It is also near the Key to Sakuko's Mailbox!

The Shoulder Bag can be found near the area where you would first start in the Ebisugaoka Fields (Fog Town) during Chapter 3. From where you first started, follow the road that leads east until you see a path to the north.
Take the north path and turn left. At the end of the path, you should encounter two enemies. Fight them and continue around the tree, and you should be able to see the Shoulder Bag on top of a wooden box.
