Coming Home to Roost Ending Explained
First Ending: Hinako's Spiral Into
Coming Home to Roost is the first ending in Silent Hill f, showing Hinako’s tragic return to her family home as a broken bride lost within her own psyche. When she confronts her parents, her father coldly rejects her, declaring that she no longer belongs in their home. Consumed by despair, Hinako transforms into a monstrous bride and murders both of her parents.
This ending draws heavily on foreshadowing, particularly the earlier wedding with Fox Mask, which implied that Hinako had been forced into marriage. The playable version of Hinako can be interpreted as her fragile psyche struggling to remain whole, while her monstrous “bride” form represents the side of her that has fully given in to corruption and addiction.
The transformation also connects to the wedding massacre revealed in the post-credits scene, confirming Hinako as its true perpetrator. The sequence implies that her crimes were committed while under the influence of the mysterious red capsules. Early in the game, Shu hands Hinako a Capsule Case, which suggests he may have been the one who supplied the very drugs that pushed her toward this destructive fate.
How to Get the First Ending
Complete Your First Playthrough
Coming Home to Roost will unlock after completing the game’s story on your first playthrough. This normal ending is fixed for all players during their first run and acts as the prerequisite to unlock the alternate endings available in New Game Plus.
Unlike other outcomes, Coming Home to Roost does not require any special choices or conditions. Simply progress through the story, complete all objectives, and upon finishing the main game, the first ending will automatically play, marking the conclusion of Hinako’s first journey.
