The Wyvern Ignition Impact was the king of Great Swords before the arrival of the Iceborne Expansion. This Great Sword boasted an attack rating of 1008 and white sharpness. Its greatest strength, however, is the fact that its element is hidden. This meant that the Non-Elemental Boost Skill could be paired with the weapon and take its damage to levels that other Great Swords just could not reach at the time.

The Black Fatalis Blade sits atop the mountain as the Best Great Sword in MHW: Iceborne.

Hunters can offset its rather high -30% affinity penalty with skills such as Agitator, Weakness Exploit, and Critical Eye. Additionally, The Black Fatalis Blade has a whopping 1632 attack rating and purple sharpness, making this Great Sword an all-purpose powerhouse that blew the competition away upon its arrival during the Final Free Update of the Iceborne Expansion.
