The Most Efficient Way to Farm Research Points

Expeditions to Guiding Lands

crystalized elder dragon bone.png
A great way to earn Research Points is going on an Expedition to Guiding Lands and gathering from all the Bonepiles, with the ultimate goal of getting Crystalized Elder Dragon Bones. Each one gives you 700 Research Points, allowing you to collect more than 10,000 Research Points in 10 minutes.

Investigations in Elder's Recess

upsurge beryl deposits.png
If you haven't reached Guiding Lands yet, the Beryl Deposits in Elder's Recess will be a good substitute. Look for Elder's Recess Investigations in the Resource Center that say Upsurge: Beryl Deposits to net you even more Research Points.

Beryl Deposit Route

Note that some of these Beryl Deposits only appear when Upsurge: Beryl Deposits is active.

Step 1 From the Eastern Camp, move to Area 3 and collect from the 2 Beryl Deposits.
Step 2 Move to Area 9 and collect from the 2 Beryl Deposits.
Step 3 Move to Area 8 and collect from the 6 Beryl Deposits, then teleport using the Gajalaka Shortcut No. 2.
Step 4 Go further down the crystal paths, collect from the 1 Beryl Deposit, then teleport using the Gajalaka Shortcut No. 4.
Step 5 From the hole, pick the leftmost path and collect from the 1 Beryl Deposit.
Step 6 Repeat until satisfied!

Where to Use Research Points

List of Where to Use Research Points

argosy.png
Research Points are incredibly valuable, since they can be used for a lot of things in-game. Here are the different ways you can use them:

  • Eating meals
  • Submitting delivery quests
  • Deploying Tailrider Safaris
  • Augmenting weapons at the Smithy
  • Melding items at the Elder Melder
  • Awakening Alchemy at the Elder Melder
  • Buying materials at the Argosy
  • Purchasing fertilizer at the Botanical Research
  • Buying furniture for your room

Recommended Usage

With the multiple ways you can spend it, Research Points can easily vanish in the blink of an eye. Prioritizing where you spend them can save you a lot of trouble.

Augmenting Weapons

In Master Rank, you can further Augment your high rarity weapons using materials and Research Points.

Elder Melder

The Elder Melder is very useful for getting your much needed but often used items, like Mega Demondrugs and Decorations. You can meld other items in your inventory in exchange for the item you want with the use of Research Points.

Awakening Alchemy

At the Elder Melder, you can find a section called Awakening Alchemy. Here you can meld Safi'jiiva materials into Safi'jiiva weapons, otherwise called Awakened Weapons. These powerful weapons come at a hefty price; at least 1000 Research Points are needed to craft them.

Fertilizer for Botanical Research

Fertilizer can double, triple, or quadruple your harvest at the Botanical Research. But of course, fertilizer costs Research Points.
