Creating Your Main Character and Party Members
1 | Enter the Basic Info and Image for the party member. In this example, we'll select a character that we created. |
---|---|
2 | Next, go to Event Details, select Messages, and set a dialogue for this character to join the party. |
3 | Add another line of command below the Show Text command and go to Party and select Change Members. Choose the Actor inside the list and select Add under Operation. |
4 | Now, let's create a Control Switch for this event. Add another command line, go to Game Progress, select Control Switch, and choose Single. In this example, we're setting the switch to 0002. |
5 | To complete this event we need to add another Event Page. Press the X Button and select Add Event Page. Press the R Button to switch to the second Event Page. |
6 | From the second Event Page go to Conditions. Select Switches A and select the switch number for this event. |
7 | Let's do a playtest. |
8 | Success! A new character has joined our party. |
You can introduce new party members through story-driven encounters in towns or villages. For example, a local hero, a wandering traveler, or a character with a personal connection to the main quest can join the party after a conversation or quest.
You can create recruitment events in dangerous locations like dungeons or caves, where players encounter characters in peril or on their own journey. Helping them out of a tough situation can lead to them joining your party.
Party members can be recruited through casual, social settings like a tavern. This could involve completing tasks, or even a challenge before the character decides to join the team.
