Advanced Tips on the Rocksteady Mantle

A Double Edged Mantle

The Rocksteady is another offensive Mantle in that it prevents immobilizing effects like roars and tremors as opposed to the Impact mantle which an ability to inflict stun on enemeis. Having the immunity to these effects allows you to dish damage while their now useless roar animations play.

Can Be Used to Flinch Shot Monsters

Similar to the Temporal Mantle, the Rocksteady Mantle can be used to Flinch Shot monsters while they are attacking. This will cost the hunter some health if the enemy's attack is an unsafe attack to use the Clutch Claw but this will also guarantee a Flinch Shot.

Attacks With Knockback Effects May Instantly Kill You

Some attacks works in a way that once it hits you, you'll be blown away then the attack ends. But with the Rocksteady Mantle, the knockback parts gets negated. This can result in your character taking the damage repeatedly and can cause serious damage (or worse, a faint). Examples of these attacks are Kushala Daora and Frostfang Bariot's hurricanes.
