Best Long Sword (Early Iceborne)

Why is it Good?

The Defender Katana V isn't the best weapon around but it's decent statline and a blast status ability allows it to be a good contender for a good chunk of Iceborne's early game. It's crafting materials are also pretty easy to get so it's going to be a staple equipment to have if this is your weapon of choice at the start of the game.

Why is it Good?

While its raw damage isn't that much higher than the Defender Katana V, it does come with a little bit of purple sharpness (it can be maximized with Handicraft jewels) and it also comes with the paralysis status ailment which can make an opportunity to use Spirit Slash to charge your weapon. It can also be upgraded further once you have slain an Acidic Glavenus so it's a good weapon to invest in until you reach the later stages of the game.
