All Camp Locations | Where to Set Up Camp

Camps make navigating huge maps a little bit easier. With this guide, you will learn about all the different camp locations and where to find them on every map in Monster Hunter World (MHW).

How to Set Up Camp

When you arrive at a new locale, there will always be a camp that will be unlocked right from the start. The others you can unlock either by completing a quest or by discovering the location.

When you discover a camp location, the Handler will set up a delivery quest for you. You can fulfill this by going to the Resource Center at the Tradeyard in Astera, and going to Complete Deliveries. There will be a few required materials for it, but they will be worth it!

Ancient Forest Camp Locations

Camp Locations Overview

Southwest Camp (Area 1)	Unlocked from the beginning.
Northwest Camp (Area 8)	Complete the delivery quest that pops up when you discover the location.
Northeast Camp (Area 11)	Clear ★2 Bird-Brained Bandit.

Northwest Camp Location (Area 8)

From the Southwest Camp, take the left path which leads to Area 9. Continue past the waterfall and walk up the rocky terrain. Take the middle path, then head to the right path until you get to the herb next to a huge wall of vines. When you look to your left, there should be a smaller wall of vines that you can climb towards. When you reach the top, go into the hole as pictured above.

Ancient Forest Camp Location (Area 17)

If you have done ★5 A Fiery Throne Atop the Forest where you have to hunt a Rathalos, chances are you've been to his nest. If you haven't done it yet, just head straight up to the very top of the Ancient Forest. You will know you have reached the nest when you see a few Vespoids hanging around a rock formation that has water seeping through it.

Head straight from the Vespoids until you reach a hole that you can crawl under. Then continue heading straight until you can turn right. Turn left at the path just before the Godbugs, then go until the Handler tells you about the camp location.

Wildspire Waste Camp Locations

Eastern Camp (Area 11)	Clear ★3 The Best Kind of Quest.

Central Camp Location (Area 6)

From the Southwest Camp, go through the second path from the left. Go past the waterfalls and into a cave on the left. Crawl under the hole on the right side, and turn left. Stay on the right wall until you can go down a wall of vines. You should see a cave on your right with more vines to climb down from.

Here at Central Camp, there is a fishing spot where you can find various fish, including a Gastronome Tuna.

Northeast Camp Location (Area 15)

Once you unlock the Eastern Camp, you can head from there to the Northeast Camp. Head out of the camp then climb the wall of vines. Head left past the Tough-skinned Fruit, up past the bonepile, and out to the sandy plains. Go straight until you spot a few Vespoids. They should be hanging around the hole pictured above. Follow the path from there until you reach vines to climb down from.

Coral Highlands Camp Locations

Coral Highlands Maps and Materials

Northeast Camp Location (Area 12)

There are only two camps in the Coral Highlands, and they are set far away from each other. The Northeast Camp is also much closer to Legiana and Kirin's areas, so be sure to set this camp up as soon as you can to improve your hunting experience.

Since it is far from the Southern Camp, it is best to start from Area 8. This is a common fighting place, where there are a few Vigorwasps flying about. Climb up the big wall of vines, or use the wedge beetle on the side. There will be a clearing; take the leftmost path. Head straight until you see a hole on the right wall, as pictured above.

Rotten Vale Camp Locations

Elder's Recess Maps and Materials

Eastern Camp Location (Area 8)

From the Southeast Camp, head out into Area 2 and keep left. Slide down into the crystal cave, then turn right as soon as you can. Climb up the wall of vines, then climb up the next one as well (or you can use the wedge beetle). Upon reaching the top, you should see a hole to your right as pictured above.

There is a fishing spot here at the Eastern Camp, where you can find fish like the Petricanths. Catching this big, glowing fish unlocks an achievement called A Living Fossil. There is also a wedge beetle in the camp, which leads to a place full of Moonlight Gekko and a red Mining Outcrop.

Northwest Camp Location (Area 16)

This is closer to the Eastern Camp, so you can start from there. Outside the Eastern Camp, there should be another wall of vines you can climb up. Turn left to the Beryl Deposits, then go down the big wall of vines. Keep right until you see a path with a red Mining Outcrop. Follow that path and keep to the left wall. You should spot two Flamenuts right after each other, then you should be able to see the hole picture above. Once inside, turn right.

Hoarfrost Reach Camp Locations Overview

Southern Camp (Area 1)	Unlocked from the beginning.
Western Camp (Area 5)	Unlocked during first expedition through Hoarfrost Reach.
Central Camp (Area 7)	Complete the delivery quest that pops up when you discover the location.
Northeast Camp (Area 15)	Complete the delivery quest that pops up when you discover the location.
Shipwreck Camp (Area 12)	Unlocked after hunting the first Viper Tobi-Kadachi.

Hoarfrost Reach Maps and Materials

Central Camp (Area 7)

Jump down from the Western Camp and climb up the wall of vines on the left side. Turn right by the hot springs, and go to the path that leads into the more open area. This should be path second from the right. You should come across a hole in the wall to your left.

Northeast Camp (Area 15)

Note that you should have progressed enough in the story to unlock the upper section of the map where the Northeast Camp is located.

From the Central Camp, turn left. Go straight to where the First Wyverian is. There should be a path beside him instead of a wall. (If you encounter a wall, you have not progressed through the story enough yet.) From there, go to the left path. You should see a hole in the right wall adjacent to a Hot Pepper plant.

Eastern Camp (Area 3)	Complete the delivery quest that pops up when you discover the location.

Eastern Camp Location (Area 3)

From the First Western Camp, go through through the exit near your Palico. Jump off the cliff and continue towards the left of the waterfall. Then to your right, you should come across a wall of vines as pictured above. Climb up, then crawl under the hole.
