Recommended Weapon Element and Armor Skills

Dragon Weapon	Banbaro is weakest against dragon.
Recommended Armor Skills
Ice Resistance	Ice Resistance while fighting Banbaro in the Hoarfrost Reach can help negate some of the damage from his ice attacks.
Evade Window	Banbaro's attacks that involve a tree or a rock are usually difficult to evade because of their wide range. The Evade Window skill can make evading against Banbaro more forgiving.
Aquatic/Polar Mobility	The Hoarfrost Reach has some areas with deep snow, which can slow you down. Not helpful when you want to avoid Banbaro's attacks. At Lvl 3, it also greatly increases your evade window.
Health Boost	Because Banbaro can often hit you with Iceblight, it will be a bit harder to dodge his attacks without running out of stamina. Having extra health to tank a bit of the damage during times like these will be helpful.

How to Beat Banbaro

Avoid Dodging Left and Right

Banbaro's attacks usually will lift the trees and rocks in the surrounding area. This makes most of his attacks have a wider range and almost impossible to dodge by moving to the sides. It is best to retreat and wait for its movement to stop before attacking again.

You can also stop his lunge attacks by using a Flash Pod.

Opportunity to Attack

After Banbaro dives or rushes forward, you will have a small window where you can attack its head freely. Always be prepared to attack and abuse opportunities like this.

Nullberry and Hotspring

If you are hit by Banbaro's attacks, you will sometimes get covered in snow and end up with Iceblight. This will speed up your stamina consumption making it harder to move around and dodge his attacks. You can use a Nullberry to remove this or use a nearby hot spring to a Coldproof buff.

Raising Ice Resistance

You can also try raising your Ice Resistance to level 3 to increase your defense against Banbaro's ice attacks.

Stay on the Rear

Most of Banbaro's attacks hit forward and it can be used to your advantage. Since there are only a few moves that can hit you from the side. It is recommended that you stay in the rear and focus on attacking the Hind Legs to take him down.
