Dondoko Island Guide: How to Unlock and Play

In Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (Yakuza 8), you can travel to Dondoko Island and fix up the island to increase its resort rating. Read on to learn more about Dondoko Island including how to unlock it and what you can do on the island.

How to Unlock Dondoko Island

Unlocks at Chapter 6

Dondoko Island will be unlocked after the winning the fight at the start of Chapter 6: Puppet on a String. After winning the fight, a cutscene will take place and you will wake up at Dondoko Island.

How to Get to Dondoko Island

Going to Dondoko Island

You can get to Dondoko Island by heading to the Dondoko Island Pier as shown in the image above.

Returning to Honolulu

In-Game View	Map View

You can return to Honolulu by talking to Dolphine and selecting the Return to Honolulu option. You will need stay for three days before you have the option to go back to Hawaii via Dolphine.

Increase Your Resort Rank

To get your first star, you will need to clear out the Entrance and the Great Tree, and then raise your Satisfaction and Popularity levels. Do note that these are just the requirements for the first star and that the requirements for the resort ranks after this may be different.

Furnish Kasuga's House to Improve Its Livability

After your first day on Dondoko Island, Matayoshi will present you with a house as a gift. This will be yours to live in and adding furniture and other decorative accessories will improve its Livability.

As the Livabality of your house increases, so does Kasuga's health. This allows you to keep Kasuga healthy and more durable against enemies. This also ensures that Kasuga will be in shape for the next day to accomplish tasks and gather resources.

Earn Dokobucks

Earn Dokobucks by taking on Dondoko Dailies and Suggestion Box Requests. Dondoko Dailies are missions that update each day while Suggestion Box Requests are quick missions where you need to fulfill certain requests.

Dokobucks can also be converted to money you can use back in Honolulu. You can convert your Dokubucks by interacting with Dolphine.

Craft Furnishing from DIY Projects

The materials you collect around Dondoko can be used to create various DIY furnishing. As you create more furniture, you get building experience that improves your building talent. The items you make can be placed all over the island and can help increase your Popularity.

Purchase Upgrades and Items at the Shop

If you're looking to upgrade your tools, you can talk to Kenzo at Matayoshiya as he can upgrade them up to four times. Additionally, if you wish to improve your Livability by expanding your house or by purchasing additional lodgings, Kenzo can help with these expansions as well.

When you raise your Resort Rank to 1 start, you can invite guests to come over to Dondoko Island. When they pay to stay at the island, you can receive a portion of the guest's payment.

Convert Dokobucks to Dollar

Exchange Rate
100 Dokobucks = 1 dollar

You can exchange Dokobucks for dollars by talking to Dolphine at Dondoko Beach. Dollars cannot be converted to Dokobucks.

Dondoko Island Rewards

Earn Money from Resort Ranks

Upon ranking up your Resort Rank, you will get money instead of Dokobucks as a reward. While the reward for getting your first star is $10,000, the reward for getting higher resort ranks may increase.

	Ran a TV ad on Dondoko Island.

	Welcomed 100 guests to Dondoko Island.

You can get up to four Bronze trophies by completing tasks related to Dondoko Island. Players aiming to collect all trophies should take these into consideration.
