List of Contents
Layered Weapons are weapon augments that can be layered on top of an existing Master Rank (Rarity 9 and above) weapon. This feature enables hunters to customize their weapon's appearance while retaining the weapon's stats. Layered Weapons do not occupy a weapon's augment slots when applied.
Layered Weapon augments are classified into three types: Layered Bases, Layered Parts, and Unique Layers.
Layered Bases are augments that serve as the foundation of a Layered Weapon's overall apperance.
Layered Bases can be paired with Layered Parts.
Layered Parts are augments that hunters can add on-top of their Layered Base.
Layered Parts cannot be applied without a Layered Base.
Unique Layers are special augments that completely overhaul a weapon's appearance.
Layered Parts cannot be applied on top of Unique Layers.
Simply head over to the Smithy and select the Augment Equipment option. Afterwards, select the weapon you want to apply a Layered Weapon Augment to.
In the Augmentation window, select the Layered Weapons section. All customization options available to your chosen weapon will be displayed on screen - along with their required materials and research points.
There will be reset options at the end of every layered weapon list. Hunters will have their materials refunded to them in full.
