This is a guide on how to use everyone's favorite weapon in Monster Hunter World to live out their Samurai dreams, the Long Sword. Read on more to learn about their controls and how to effectively use them.

The Spirit Gauge is charged when doing your regular attacks. The Spirit Gauge will allow you to complete the Spirit Combo which will allow you to perform the Spirit Roundslash, which will level up the Spirit Guage to a stronger version.
This combo is the basic combo to level up your Spirit Gauge by one level.

Basic Level Up Combo |
This combo will allow you to reposition without lowering your Damage Per Second. You can also parry attacks from monsters.

Fade Slash for Repositioning Combo |
Foresight Slash will allow you to parry incoming monster attacks. You must learn to time this perfectly to get the most out of this combo. When used at the right time, you can use it against Monster's roars. Keep in mind that though you can parry, this does not give you the ability to block attacks.

Foresight Slash Combo |
This should be used when your Spirit Gauge is red. It is best to use it when the Monster is down or stationary to deal the most amount of possible damage.

Spirit Helmbreaker Combo |
The Spirit Blade Consists of the combos that will allow you to level up your Spirit Gauge. There are three levels to the Spirit Gauge: white, yellow and red. Levelling up will allow you to deal more damage over a longer amount of time. You can cosistently do this to keep your Spirit Gauge up.
