Countermeasures against Beotodus

Recommended Weapon Element and Armor Skills

Recommended Weapon Element
Fire Weapon Beotodus is weakest against fire.
Recommended Armor Skills
Ice Resistance Ice Resistance can be helpful against a lot of Beotodus's attacks, as it can mitigate the ice damage that you take.
Blight Resistance Beotodus can apply Iceblight quite often. Get Blight Resistance to Lvl 3 to completely negate this.
Earplugs Beotodus has a small roar, so getting your Earplugs skill to Lvl 3 is enough.
Aquatic/Polar Mobility You will only get to fight Beotodus in the Hoarfrost Reach, and most of the areas he likes to fight in have deep snow. Moving faster in deep snow and having an increased evade window can help you against his dive attacks.
Health Boost Having more health can't hurt! Especially when it is your first time fighting him; the difficulty spike from high rank to master rank can be quite a whiplash.

How to Beat Beotodus

Iceblights and Nullberries

Most of Beotodus' attack can inflict Iceblight which makes you drain your stamina much faster than usual. You must immediately cure this especially if you are using a weapon that consumes a lot of stamina such as Bows or Dual Blades. Be sure to bring Nullberries to cure this whenever it is present.

Building Your Resistance

Raising your Ice Resistance value to 20 or more can completely counter any ice damage that you receive from Beotodus' attack. However, if you cannot do this, you can raise your Ice Resistance skill to level 3 instead.

Snow Armor

Snow Armor Normal

Beotodus can sometimes cover himself with snow to make his body parts harder. This will allow him to increase his defense against your attacks. You can try to remove these snow by focusing your attacks on parts that are covered in snow to make them move vulnerable.

Surprise Attack

How to Beat - Beotodus 3.png
When Beotodus dives into the snow, he can attack you from underneath which can deal massive damage. You need to constantly move and keep yourself away from Beotodus to avoid taking any damage from this attack.

Using Screamer Pod

Similar to Diablos, Beotodus can be affected by Screamer Pods to force them out of the ground. This can also stun him for a few seconds allowing you to attack with your best combos to deal some damage.
