Countermeasures against Brachydios

Recommended Weapon Element and Armor Skills

Recommended Weapon Element
Ice Weapon	Brachydios is weakest against ice.
Water Weapon	While not as weak to it, water can wash off the slime off Brachydios.
Recommended Armor Skills
Blast Resistance	Brachydios gives you Blastscourge which is more powerful than Blastblight. It is also harder to roll off. It is highly recommended to have Blast Resistance Lvl 3 to completely negate this.
Health Boost	Additional health, especially when dealing with blastscourge, will never hurt.
Earplugs	Brachydios has a big roar, so levelling up the Earplugs skill to Lvl 5 will prove handy.

How to Beat Brachydios

Avoid the Slime

Bracydios will occasionally release a green slime with his attacks. Be careful and try to move away as it can explode after a few seconds.

The slime on the ground will slowly change in color and turn red before exploding. Keep this in mind to learn when to move away from the slime.

Large Puddle of Slime

Brachydios will sometimes release a large puddle of slime over your head that can slow down your movement drastically. Move out of it as fast as you can before it explodes.

Blast Resistance

Most of Brachydios' attacks can inflict Blastblight and it can be difficult to deal with if you are constantly pressured by his attacks. You should use gears with at least Lv 3 Blast Resistance to fully negate the effects of the Blastblight.

Nullberry and Forward Roll

Brachydios' attacks can also inflict Blastblight. You can easily counter this by performing a forward roll multiple times or by using a Nullbery. Keep this in mind as it will happen frequently during the fight.

Enraged Bracydios

When Brachydios is enraged, the slimes will explode faster and the blast radius will be a lot bigger than the usual. Stay defensive and prioritize dodging over attacking when he is enraged.

Reducing the Slime

Breaking Brachydios parts permanently removes the slimes he can produce from that part. This can help you gain an advantage as the fight goes on during the hunt. You can also reduce the amount of slime that he can produce by hitting the slimy part using a weapon with water affinity.

Fireproof Mantle

Wearing a Fireproof Mantle is an effective counter to Brachydios because it can reduce the damage you take from the explosions and the blasts which is present on most of Brachydios' attacks.
