How to Beat Biophage |
---|
|
The easiest, most straightforward way to kill a Biophage is to attack it with your melee weapon or shoot it with a gun until it dies. But be careful, as it can also fight back and even kill you in the process.
You can also sneak up on them and use the Shiv to kill them quickly, just like an assassin.
Biophages will have the ability to transform into stronger creatures later in the game. Tentacles will spawn on them before they change, so shoot those tentacles and kill them before that happens!
You'll know you've reached that part in the story once you see the Shoot the Tentacles blood text on the wall with a dead guard sitting below it.
If you want to conserve ammo and cannot afford to get close to them, you can use your GRP instead to kill them. You can grab and throw them into an environmental hazard, throw them off the map, or grab a lethal object like an explosive tank and throw it to kill them.
Note that the GRP doesn't have unlimited use, so try to manage its shots carefully!

Use GRP to kill an enemy by throwing them into an environmental hazard. |
Using GRP on Biophages will unlock a few of the trophies and achievements. You should be able to get them all as long as you keep using the GRP on them while you progress into the story.
Trophy List and Achievement Guide
Headshots won't matter much against Biophages, as they can still move after getting their heads cut off. Instead, you can take their limbs off to reduce their combat capabilities and eventually kill them. You can use your melee weapon, assuming you have unlocked the standard upgrades, or a gun to remove them.

Flesh Wound |

Use melee or ranged weapons to take both arms off a living enemy. |
You will also unlock another trophy and achievement called Flesh Wound by removing both of their arms while still alive. For this trophy and achievement, it's better to use a gun to accurately aim for the Biophage's limbs.
Trophy List and Achievement Guide
Biophages are regular enemies and you can find them almost anywhere in the game. You will encounter them more often at the early chapters, and they'll have the ability to evolve as you fight and progress further into the game.
