In order to get the Skunkworks Shotgun “Skunk Gun”, players will first need to progress the story until they reach the Aftermath story chapter. Play through this segment of the story until you reach the point where your elevator malfunctions and you plummet to the lower floors of the prison.
Note: While the schematic for the Skunk Gun can still be found further into the story, this is the earliest possible time to get it for your playthrough.
Aftermath: Story Walkthrough and Guide
1 | Once Jacob recovers from the fall, exit the elevator shaft. Be careful as a new infected awaits you as soon as you leave the shaft. |
---|---|
2 | After dealing with the grabber, pay attention to the locked gate on your right (needs a Gate Fuse to open). This is where you will need to return later on to get the Skunk Gun. |
3 | Once you get your bearings, make your way through to the end of the basement. While the area is fairly linear, do note that there will be a fair amount of infected enemies to fight along the way. |
4 | At the very end of the basement will be an open area. Look around until you see a Gate Fuse next to the corpse of a dead guard. Loot it before continuing. |
5 | With the Gate Fuse in hand, backtrack to the D3 Basement Storage Gate you saw earlier. Use the Gate Fuse to unlock this section of the basement. |
6 | Head through the unlocked door and crawl through the vent. On the other side should be a room with the Skunk Gun Schematic as well as a Pristine Energy Converter. |
7 | Reunite with Elias to reach the section of the level that contains a Reforge Station. Here you can upload the schematic and unlock the Skunk Gun for purchase. |
If you missed the Skunk Gun schematic section during Aftermath, you can still get it once you reach Chapter 4: Habitat. After entering Security, head left to Botanical Recycling. The schematic can be found next to the body of the dead guard after squeezing through to a secluded area marked as Utility H630.
Chapter 4: Habitat Walkthrough and Implant Bio Locations
Offering more bang for your buck than the default Hand Cannon, the Skunk Gun is by far one of the most powerful sidearms you can equip until the late-game.
On higher difficulties, its bullet spread, limb damage, and stopping power are perfect for when you start encountering mutating enemies. Instead of having to aim precisely in the heat of battle, one pump is all you need to put down enemies for good.

The Skunk Gun is a powerful sidearm that players can get as early as the Aftermath chapter. Being an almost mini-Riot Gun, this sidearm synergizes perfectly with the up-close-and-personal combat flow of the Callisto Protocol.
The Skunk Gun is an amazing sidearm for when you get mobbed by multiple enemies. Take advantage of its high damage at close range to quickly blast away opponents and make room for you to evade any follow-up attacks.
The Skunk Gun also combos very well with melee chains. One quick shot from the Skunk Gun can net you an easy limb dismember and sometimes even knock the enemies out for good.
