Objectives | |
---|---|
1 | Escape. When you awake, the entire Black Iron prison is now in utter chaos. From your cell, go right and run towards Cellblock 35 P350. Reach the end of the hall and turn left to see the stairs. |
2 | Go down the stairs. When you reach the bottom of the stairs, you'll hear another inmate, Elias. He asks that you help free him from the control room and he gives you the Shiv, a handy tool you can use to cut ribbon cables to open doors. |
3 | Cross the Bridge to the Control Room. Use the Shiv to open Cellblock 24 P240. Once you're through go right and cross the bridge to the control room. |
4 | Get into the Control Room. Use the Shiv to open Gate Control P266. Once inside you'll be attacked by other inmates. Here the game will teach you the basics of combat as well as award you with your first weapon, the Crowbar. |
5 | Learn the basics of combat. After the short lesson on dodging and melee combat, take out the other inmates and the mutated Biophage before you free Elias. |
6 | Free Elias Once the enemy is dealt with, interact with the console to free Elias from his cell. Regroup with Elias afterwards. |
7 | Find the elevator. After learning that the main gate to Cellblock 24 P240 is jammed, Elias will tell you to find another elevator and meet him on the upper levels. Go further into Cellblock 24 P240. At the end of the hall, there should be an elevator past the walkway on your right. It will take you down to Cellblock 15 P150. |
8 | Reach the end of the hall. You will face some enemies as you go through Cellblock 15 P150, but the good news is there will be a Health Injector inside a wall-mounted box along the walkway. Reach Lift P105 at the end. |
9 | Move through Solitary. The elevator is broken, instead of taking you up it takes you down. Elias reassures you that you can rendezvous with him, you just have to go through Solitary. |
10 | Make it to the end of the Access Halls. Go to the end of the hall until you have to turn right and go straight forward until you reach Acces Hall S019. Make your way further into the hall until you reach Access Hall S026.The elevator will be at the end of this hall. |
11 | Sneak past the Security Units. The elevator will take you up to the Infirmary. Go straight down the hall until you path is blocked by hospital equipment. Turn to your left, and you'll see an open vent, crawl through it and wait for the security droid to get out of the room before you go down. |
12 | Stay Low This area is being monitored by security droids. If they see you, you are good as dead. Stay low and in cover as you move about the Infirmary.
|
13 | Get the Gate Fuse Watch out for the robots before you make any move. Go into Intesive Care M109 and make your way into Medical Ward M109. Head into Implant M110 and find the Gate Fuse. Once you take the Fuse, the lights will go out. Go up the stairs and use the Gate Fuse to open Mezzanine M123. |
14 | Get to the Weapons Lockup Go further into the Mezzanine. When you enter, a monster engulfed in flames will be there, be ready. At the end of the hall, the path will be blocked. Find the vent on your left and crawl until you get to the area where two enemies will be waiting. When the enemies are dead, find the other vent. |
15 | Get the Stun Baton When you reach the Lockup, you'll know that everything is raided already. All that's left is the Stun Baton by the dead guard. This will replace the crowbar as your default melee weapon. Interact with the console to open the elevator at the end of the room. This will spawn an enemy so be prepared. |
16 | Reach the end of the hall. Go through the opened door and keep on going until you reach the end: another door that opens up to Cellblock 24 P240. Go outside and reach the end of the walkway into Cellblock 25 P250. A group of enemies will be waiting for you, so be sure to get the Health Injector before you enter Cellblock 25. |
17 | Go past the Security Gate. Go back up the stairs and go through Security Control Gate P301 to reach the Security Room. You can also opt to get Elias' Implant Bios in his cell before you leave the area. Take the elevator at the end to reach the Security Room. |
18 | Sneak past Cpt. Ferris. Go straight for the door at the other end of the room to trigger a cutscene. Afterwards, take Cpt. Ferris' Implant Bios from the table. Reach the safe room past Access Halls P401 and P402. |

Shiv | |
---|---|
A sharpened wrench used as an improvised weapon or tool capable of overriding security doors. Suspected property of Inmate 397-623. |
|
Type | Alt Melee |
Acquisition Type | Story Progression |
The Shiv acts as both tool and quick-kill weapon. This is given to you by Elias when you first meet him after waking up in Black Iron Prison. You can use the Shiv to unlock doors and loot boxes.
Shiv Upgrades and How to Get
Crowbar | |
---|---|
Property of Black Iron Maintenance. Unauthorized possession by inmates will result in severe disciplinary action. |
|
Type | Melee |
Acquisition Type | Story Progression |
The Crowbar is gained when you enter the Control Room to open Elias' cell. This will be dropped by an inmate, and picked up by Jacob. For the time being, this will be your default Melee weapon.
Crowbar Upgrades and How to Get
Stun Baton | |
---|---|
A kinetic energy capacitor issued to all Black Iron Security Personnel. Designed to work in conjunction with the UJC Modular Weapons Platform. |
|
Type | Melee |
Acquisition Type | Story Progression |
The Stun Baton is picked up when you enter the Weapons Lockup . This will replace your Crowbar and will be your Melee Weapon until the end of the game. This weapon is fully upgradable in any Reforge Station.
Stun Baton Upgrades and How to Get
These will be your standard enemies throughout most of the game. Though you won't have a gun yet, you can still deal with these enemies using your Crowbar, or the Stun Baton, as long as you dodge their attacks.
How to Beat Biophages
These security droids will be patrolling Solitary. Without a gun, there is no way you can deal with them for now. Your only way to survive is to keep out of sight and sneak past them.
How to Kill Security Bots
When the attack is coming from your left, hold A or move the Joystick to the Left. Inversely, when the attack is coming from your right, move your joystick to the right or hold D, to dodge safely. This is the basic tactic of staying alive against enemies who use melee attacks. There is no “timing window” for you to dodge,
Once you have the Gate Fuse, you can explore a bit more of the Infirmary before you go to the Weapons Lockup. The Locker Room is an optional area that will have some loot in the form of Callisto Credits, however, once you reach a certain point inside the Locker Room the lights will go off and you will get ambushed by Biophages.
1 | After sneaking past the first Security Unit you meet, enter the Surgery M112 room. |
---|---|
2 | Once inside, look to your right to find the Data-Bio at the corner of the room. |
1 | After obtaining the Stun Baton, return to Cellblock 25 P250 and clear out the four enemies that ambush you there. |
---|---|
2 | Once you've cleared out the enemies, leap over the small platform and turn right to find Elias's cell and the Data-Bio inside of it. |
1 | Near the end of the chapter, enter Panopticon Control P400 and try to sneak past Cpt. Ferris to trigger a cutscene. |
---|---|
2 | After the cutscene ends, go to the table at the center of the room to find the Data-Bio. |
