Enemies you've killed have a chance of dropping loot, usually in the form of either Callisto Credits, ammo, health, or items that can be sold. When looking to farm Callisto Credits via kills, do remember that the amount you get from each enemy will be random and not dependent on how strong your enemy was.
Some items like the Energy Converter or Contraband Pack can be sold for Callisto Credits at the Reforge Station. Remember to do a quick survey of the items in your inventory from time to time. If you are in need of an upgrade, selling an item may go a long way.
All Items & How Much They Sell For
The game offers an option to stomp on the corpses you have slain, much like in the Dead Space franchise. It is helpful to make a habit out of this, as the corpses may provide Callisto Credits and other essentials like ammo and health should you choose to be more thorough with the bloody remains below you.
Note: This only works on enemies you've killed. Bodies of dead inmates and prison guards will not drop anything no matter how many time you decide to pulp them.
Callisto Credits can be usually found inside storage chests in some areas. Make sure to sweep the general vicinity for chests before moving onto the next one.
Like chests, lockers are the usual repositories for Callisto Credits. Keep an eye out when exploring rooms, especially locker rooms, as some may contain lockers that hold Callisto Credits.
Some of the optional areas that the devs had previously taken to calling Beta Paths will have a lot of Callisto Credits you can find and loot. You can opt to go off the beaten path and explore secluded sections of the prison to get a chance to line your pockets with more Credits.
However, do remember to exercise caution exploring as some of these areas will surprise you with dud chests containing infected bugs, or even just dead ends that are guarded by multiple enemies.
Players can spend their hard-earned Callisto Credits at the different Reforge Stations you find throughout the game. Once you find one, simply interact with it to see what the station has to offer. Credits can be spent on weapons, weapon upgrades, ammo, or extra Health Injectors.
