The Callisto Protocol - Is there a Free PS4 to PS5 Upgrade

Unfortunately, there is no free PS4 to PS5 upgrade available for the Callisto Protocol. Read on to learn if paid upgrades are available, how you can still get a version for both the PS4 and the PS5, as well as info on whether the Xbox versions have an upgrade available for last-gen consoles.

Is There a Free PS4 to PS5 Upgrade?

No Free Upgrade From the PS4 to PS5

No Upgrade Available for PS4 to PS5

Unfortunately, there is no official word on free upgrade from the PS4 to PS5 version of the game. Additionally, at the time of writing, the official store page makes no mention of a paid upgrade option being available for the PS4 version of the game.

Purchase the PS4 + PS5 Edition to Get Access to Both Platform Versions

In order to get access to both versions of the game, players will need to pay extra and get the PS4 + PS5 digital edition of the Callisto Protocol. This allows owners of both consoles (or players with plans to upgrade from a PS4) to have access to the game on the PS4 and the PS5.

Xbox One Day One Edition Will Also Playable on Series X|S

The Callisto Protocol - Xbox One Day One Edition

Unlike on the PS4, Xbox One players will be able to purchase the Day One Standard Edition and enjoy a free upgrade from the Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S version of the Callisto Protocol. According to the Microsoft Store page, the Callisto Protocol Day One Edition for Xbox One will be playable on both the XB1 and Series X|S.

Note: Be aware that the pricing for the XB1 + XB Series X|S version seems to at be odds with its Playstation counterpart. Series X|S owners may want to keep tabs on the Xbox One - Day One Edition store page before buying a copy to see if Microsoft does update it to only be playable on the Xbox One.

Digital Deluxe Editions For Xbox are Playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S

The Callisto Protocol - Xbox Digital Deluxe Editions

If you're purchasing the Digital Deluxe Edition for Xbox One then you're in the clear. Both the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S Digital Deluxe editions will allow you to play your copy on either console.

Owners of a Series X or S will want to be aware that despite the Xbox One - Day One Edition being playable on both current and last-gen consoles, there is no mention on the store page that the XB1 edition is optimized for the Series X|S. This could mean playing with lower resolution textures compared to the original Series X|S version.

Um. Well, you're wrong. Xbox DOES have XB1 and S/X bundle package, same as PS. How could you miss that?
