Sleep Resistance	Sleep Resistance Lvl 3 can make Nightshade Paolumu's main threat completely useless.
Water Attack	Since Nightshade Paolumu doesn't need a lot of armor skills to fight against, powering up your water weapon's attacks might be worth it if you have the slots.
Earplugs	Nightshade Paolumu has a small roar, so Earplugs Lvl 3 should suffice.

How to Beat Nightshade Paolumu

Countering the Sleeping Gas

Nightshade Paolumu will sometimes use his gas attacks to make you sleep, try not to fight inside the gas mist that he releases as much as possible. Constantly move around and stay away from the gas to avoid falling asleep.

Building Sleep Resistance

Most of Nightshade Paolumu releases a sleeping gas that can be troublesome if not dealt with properly. Try to build up your Sleep Resistance up to level 3. This will prevent you from sleeping during the fight.

Using Clutch Claws

It can be difficult to attack Nightshade Paolumu while he is flying especially if you have a melee weapon. Be sure to use your Clutch Claws during this situation to easily land your attacks.

Abusing Flash Pods

Nightshade Paolumu has a long flight time but you can instantly shoot him down using a Flash Pod. However, if you do this frequently, he will eventually become resistant to Flash Pods. Try to conserve your Flash Pods and only shoot him down when you are having a hard time.
