The A Happy Hunting New Year Event will run for over two weeks starting December 23, 2023.

Pink Rathian will only be available from Dec. 23-31. Black Diablos will only be available from Jan. 1-8.

This is a list of all the monsters appearing in higher frequency during the event. Take note of their weaknesses so you can prepare before going outside!

Black Diablos and Pink Rathian are Available

Pink Rathian will be available for the first 8 days of the event, while Black Diablos will replace it for the last 8 days. All hunters HR 11 and above can encounter them on their respective days and habitats.

This event will be a great time to farm the Diablos Nero Armor, Black Diablos Weapons, Rath Heart Armor, and Pink Rathian Weapons as both of these monsters are event-exclusive monsters.

Increased Zinogre Frequency in Hunt-a-thons

Zinogre will appear as the 5th monster in Hunt-a-thons more frequently during the entire event duration. It can also appear as a 5-star monster instead of the usual 6-star minimum. Use this time to grind for its weapons and armor!

Increased Monster Frequency In The Afternoon

Monsters will spawn more frequently between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM, local time in all habitats. You'll encounter more monsters during this time, and their respawn time will be shortened.

The event features several quests you can complete to earn materials and Zenny. Some quests will give 2024 Weapon Tickets which are needed to craft event-exclusive weapons.

New Bone Weapons for Rookies

To celebrate the New Year, new hunters will receive 5 Potions and 5,000 Zenny. Reaching HR 11 will also give 2024 Weapon Tickets to forge Grade 3 Bone Weapons, which are a great headstart for rookies! You can get up to 8 tickets during the event, enough to get one of every weapon.

Medal Quests and New Year 2024 Specs

Starting January 1, 2024, additonal quests were added that reward 2024 Armor Tickets and a special Hunter Medal. The Armor Tickets can be used to forge and upgrade the New Year Specs 2024, which lets you greet other hunters while they're equipped.

The medal is rewarded once you finish 4 pages of quests, while the 5th and final page has rare materials including the Wyvern Gem Shard and Zinogre Plate.
