Odogaron is vulnerable to Ice, making Legiana and Barioth weapons good picks to use against it. It's also susceptible to Paralysis which is a good way of controlling its movements. Its weak points are its head and forelegs, both of which can be broken.

Odogaron isn't tied to any particular element, however, it's able to inflict the Bleeding status on hunters. While bleeding, attacking or evading will build up bleeding damage. If you're hit while bleeding, the accumulated bleeding damage will be added to damage you would normally have taken, making attacks deadlier.
To cure bleeding, hunters will need to avoid attacking or evading for a while. It's currently unknown if an item can be consumed to instantly cure it like in previous games.
Aside from its head, Odogaron's forelegs are also a good part to target as they take more damage and can be broken. Once broken, these will no longer cause bleeding.
