Hunt-a-thons Guide and Release Date

Hunt-a-thons are random multi-monster hunts released on December 15, 2023, in Monster Hunter Now. Check out this new mechanic's release date and what Hunt-a-thons are in this guide!

What Are Hunt-a-thons?

Random Gathering Point Events

Hunt-a-thons are random events that transform some gathering points into Hunt-a-thon points where you can participate in a series of hunts! Hunt-a-thons are available starting around 7:15 AM and end around 11:15 PM as of February 1, 2024.

Hunt-a-thon Points Last for 30 Minutes

When a Hunt-a-thon is active, it will be available for 30 minutes after which it will end. You can zoom out of the map and check nearby gathering points for any upcoming Hunt-a-thons. These will appear 30 minutes before they begin and will display their starting time.

You can also keep hunting past the 30 minute timer as long as you're in the middle of a Hunt-a-thon and don't return to the main screen.

Hunt 5 Monsters

Hunt-a-thon points will present you with the challenge of hunting five monsters in succession. Monsters in Hunt-a-thons have more HP and will be stronger than the usual monsters you encounter in the field, so multiplayer is greatly encouraged.

Some monsters are exclusive to Hunt-a-thons, like the Thunder Wolf, Zinogre. You can check the monsters in any nearby Hunt-a-thons by tapping the specific point, even if you aren't nearby.

Wait for 3 Hours After Every Hunt-a-thon

After finishing a Hunt-a-thon, you have to wait 3 hours to join another one. You can use this time to increase your HR or farm for materials.

If you don't want to wait that long for the next hunt, you can buy Hunt-a-thon tickets using gems in the shop.

Hunt-a-thons were released on December 15, 2023 and can be accessed by anyone HR 11 and up after that. During events such as Zinogre's Onslaught, some monsters, like Zinogre, will have a boosted rate during the event period. Go ahead and play these modes to get that much needed monster materials!
