Showdown With Chigda! Walkthrough

Go to the Grand Tree's Crown

From the Grand Tree Shoal Warp Spire, head east and follow the quest marker leading to the top of the Grand Tree.

Along the way, you will encounter Giroda, who will provide guidance. Continue moving forward until you reach the tree’s zenith.

Use the Cannons to Launch Momo Up

As you ascend, you’ll come across cannons designed to launch you upwards. Utilize your Starlet Burst’s Shrink ability and have Momo operate these cannons. Launch yourself from platform to platform, ultimately reaching the top.

Be prepared to revert to Nikki when necessary, as enemy Esselings will appear during your climb. Dispatch them before proceeding.

Defeat Wish Master: Chigda

At the summit of the Grand Tree, Chigda transforms into a massive, plant-like entity, signaling the start of a challenging boss battle.

The encounter involves two primary objectives: purifying the flower buds on its tentacles and attacking Chigda once the flower buds are all purified.

Purify All 3 Flower Buds

The first step is to locate and purify the three flower buds attached to Chigda's tentacles.

Each tentacle is positioned in a different section of the arena, requiring careful movement to avoid Chigda’s attacks while navigating to each location.

Shrink and Enter the Shock Wave

After purifying all three buds, Chigda releases a shock wave that blocks Nikki’s path. However, this wave leaves a small opening for Momo to enter.

Shrink into Momo and proceed through the hole created by the shock wave. Inside, Chigda’s weak spot is exposed. Revert back to Nikki and strike him with a purifying orb. This sequence must be repeated three times to defeat Chigda.

Avoid All Projectiles and Tentacle Sweeps

Throughout the battle, Chigda will attack by launching energy orbs and performing sweeping strikes with its tentacles. The tentacle sweeps can be tracked by watching for wide blue markers on the ground, which indicate where the attack will land. Quickly move out of these areas to avoid taking damage.

Chigda’s energy orbs require precise timing to dodge. Stay mobile and focus on clearing the flower buds while anticipating these projectiles.

Additional Attacks After Every Hit

With each successful hit, Chigda becomes more aggressive, adding new attacks to its arsenal. After the first hit, it will summon spikes from the ground to target Nikki. These spikes are telegraphed with glowing markers, giving you time to move out of their range.

Following the second hit, Chigda combines multiple attack patterns, increasing the challenge significantly. You will need to dodge a combination of projectiles, tentacle sweeps, and ground spikes while continuing to purify the remaining flower buds.

Leave the Tree Crown Room

Once the battle concludes, you can exit the Tree Crown Room. Be sure to examine the orb left behind by Chigda to receive the Endless Hug sketch and additional rewards. Afterward, descend through the hole below to leave the area.

Teleport back to the Temple of Wishes Warp Spire and meet Geroda. Speak with him to complete the quest.
