Get the Bug Catching Ability Outfit

Get the Bug Catching Ability Outfit

Bug Catching can be unlocked during the Accident at the Clothing Store quest. After being asked to get a Foodie Bee, you can unlock the Bug Catching Outfit sketch in the Heart of Infinity using 2 Whimstars!

To craft the Bug Catching Outfit, you will need Starlit Plums, Daisies, Floof Yarn, and Thread of Purity.

  1. Equip the Bug Catching Ability Outfit
  2. Look for Bugs in the Area
  3. Approach the Bug Slowly
  4. Catch it Once it's in Range

Equip the Bug Catching Ability Outfit

Equip the Bug Catching Ability Outfit

To start collecting bugs, you'll need to switch to the Bug Catching ability. Equip or toggle to the Afternoon Shine outfit to enable Bug Catching!

Look for Bugs in the Area

Look for Bugs in the Area

Many bugs are scattered across Miraland, so you'll easily come across them as you explore the map. If you want to locate a specific bug, you can click on the booklet icon at the bottom left of the Map screen to view your Collections.

In the Collections screen, you can open the Bugs tab to see the different types of bugs and their locations. Select the bug you want to collect and click on Track to view an encircled area where you can find the bug on the map!

Approach the Bug Slowly

Approach the Bug Slowly

Once you've spotted a bug, you'll need to walk up to it. Some bug types are cautious, so it's generally best to approach bugs slowly by holding down your ability button. By doing this, you can avoid scaring the bug away!

Catch it Once it's in Range

Catch it Once it

Your net will glow pink and a net icon will show up near the bug once it's in a close enough range to you. Simply release your hold on the ability button when this happens to catch the bug!

Catch 100 insects

Players can obtain the Bronze trophy, Hello, Future Entomologist by catching 100 insects. Make it a habit to capture any bugs you come across so that you can easily get the trophy and keep insects stocked up in your inventory!
