Some Whimstars may require players to solve a puzzle before they can be claimed. Check out all the kinds of puzzles related to Whimstars below!
Ball and Star-Shaped Item
The Whimstar Ball Puzzle starts by touching a glowing ball in the overworld, which will then project a radius around itself. The challenge here is to find a star-shaped object and interact with it, which will unlock the Whimstar.
Guide the Ball
This Whimstar puzzle involves an actual ball that players have to guide to the goal. The ball's path may be obstructed by gaps and other obstacles, requiring the player to interact with different components before letting the ball roll.
How to Guide the Ball to the Designated Area
Matching Pillars
This puzzle requires players to have all the pillars face the same way. There may be other components present that can increase the puzzle's complexity, such as pillars that rotate together, or devices that lock pillars in place.
Crystal Blocks
The objective of this Whimstar puzzle is to light up all the blocks by stepping on them. You may not fall off, backtrack, or jump on anything else other than the blocks once you start the challenge.
Find a Path to the Whimstar
Players will need to find a path to the Whimstar through platformer challenges. There can be a variety of obstacles that make this puzzle harder, such as gaps, special platforms, elevation differences, and more.
Collect All Whimstar Shards
This puzzle tasks players with collecting all the Whimstar shards that appear once the challenge starts. There is a time limit to this challenge, so players will need to be quick and make good use of their mobility Abilities.
Cloud Trail
These puzzles also involve collecting Whimstar fragments, but this time, there is a floating cloud that follows a set track. Players will need to keep up with the cloud while jumping off and back on to collect pieces along the way.

Challenges Linked to Whimstars
Whimstar Puzzles are challenges that can appear as an obstacle before getting a Whimstar. They come in several varieties, and will always award the player with one Whimstar when they are solved or completed.
Found in Overworld or Curio Domains
They can be found as puzzles in the overworld, or by going through one of the Curio Domain gates that appear as a glowing cube.
