Catastrophe Boss Battle Guide

ffx Catastrophe Boss Fight Shelled

Preparation

Characters Rikku (for Hyper Mighty G) or Yuna (for Aeon block)
Armour Auto-Phoenix, Auto Haste
Magic Auto-Life (if Rikku is not in the party)
Abilities Entrust

Moveset

FFX Catastrophe Hundred Thorns

Toxic Cloud Damages everyone and inflicts poison, confuse, and curse.
Used every other turn while Catastrophe is inside its shell.
Toxic Spray High damage to a single target and inflicts full break.
Demi Inflicts 1/4 of everyone's current HP to themselves.
Hundred Thorns Deals massive damage to all party members

While out of its shell, Catastrophe follows the attack pattern Toxic Spray -> Demi -> Hundred Thorns. It then loops back to Toxic Spray.

Strategy

FFX Catastrophe Unshelled Boss Fight
The best way is to immediately deal damage to Catastrophe (around 440,000 or 20% of its HP) to make Catastrophe come out of its shell. Once Catastrophe is out of its shell, the battle becomes linear. Keep attacking until Catastrophe uses Demi. On its third turn, Use Auto-Life or Hyper MIghty G to survive the attack.

You can also just have everyone use Auto-Life to survive the attack and have Wakka spam his Attack Reels and have the other characters use Entrust on him for a faster fight.
