How to Play on Battle of the Bulge

Battle of the Bulge is a map that older fans of the Battlefield franchise may be familiar with. The map features an expansive snowy landscape with patches of forests and small rivers in between with terrain perfect for easy vehicle use and areas and bunkers that are suitable for setting up defensive positions or points from which players can launch attacks from.

Conquest Tips

German Forces Have the Advantage

At the start of any match, players on the German side of things have the offensive advantage from the get-go. This is because the German side may find it easier to head towards Objective C1, which is one of the hotly contested objectives in the map, through a road that directly connects it from Objective A1.

This allows for the easy capture of the objective from the start of the match, with American forces having more trouble getting to this objective due to a river bisecting the sectors between C1 and Objective E1/D1.

Capture C1 and D1

Battle of the Bulge's main objectives that both forces will clash frequently in are the objectives C1 and D1, which are also the only capture points teams need to capture to control their sectors.

C1, in particular, has a bunker that perfectly offers players who control it the perfect firing position to cover the roads leading up to A1 and D1, making it an easily defensible position from which teams can also use as a stepping stone to launch attacks from.

Synchronize Land and Aerial Vehicle Attacks

Capturing other objectives such as B1, A1, and E1 will require a combination of both land and aerial vehicles to offer the best chances of survival for infantry troops moving in to capture each location. This is due to the large open spaces that each objective is surrounded by, making it perfect for either attack or defense scenarios with the use of vehicles as support.

Rush Tips

Attack From Flanks

Most of the objectives that players will need to attack in Rush are all vulnerable if attacked from their flanks. Defenses encountered in these flanks can be thinned out by dividing the assault on each location into three: two flanking attacks and one that tries to attack from the middle to split defenders into more manageable sizes.

As defenders, players must be aware of these side-flanks and defend against them by making use of the defensible positions that buildings provide them. If defenders can funnel attackers into one objective, it can act as a method of concentrating enemies into one area of the map on which defenders can focus fire on.

Defend Objectives with Traps

Unlike Breakthrough, players will need to arm objectives on the map to gain any progress on the map. To easily defend these bombs, a decent strategy to prevent attackers from getting too close is by planting traps around the bombs. C4 bombs are ideal for this mission, allowing players greater control over when to activate them to wipe out enemy attackers.

Use Vehicles to Create Paths

Due to most objectives being inside of buildings, it may be difficult for infantrymen to find ways inside without coming under heavy fire from defenders. Players can navigate past this by using vehicles such as tanks to crack open the walls of buildings to give attacking infantrymen a method to access the inside of buildings where the objectives are.
