SOB-8 Ballistic Shield

• Fixed an issue where the SOB-8 Ballistic Shield didn’t block bullets when inside an elevator. • Fixed an issue where Dozer would not be targeted by Boris' SG-36 Sentry Gun and AI ignoring the user while having a SOB-8 Ballistic Shield equipped. • Fixed an issue where players couldn’t enter vehicles while the SOB-8 Ballistic Shield was equipped. • Fixed an issue where reviving is hard to perform while having the SOB-8 Ballistic Shield equipped. • Fixed an issue where killing a player with the SOB-8 Ballistic Shield would also take the victim’s dogtag. • Fixed an issue where players were flung up in the air after being melee’d by Dozers shield. • Fixed a bug where Dozer could steal a takedown kill from friendlies using shield bash. • Reduced Dozer's deflection damage from his shield. •Removed the headshot multiplier from Dozer's deflection damage.

How to Use the SOB-8 Ballistic Shield Specialty

Melee Attacks Kill in 1 Hit

The Ballistic Shield can take out unarmored opponents in 1 attack. A good way to counter this is by equipping shields provided by Angel or the IBA Armor Plate.

Ballistic Shield has Limited Turning

While Dozer has the Ballistic Shield equipped, his movement speed and turn rate will be reduced. Use this opportunity to flank and take him out.

Counter Dozer with Incendiary Grenades

Due to his movement speed being decreased when the shield is out, it is easy to counter him by using an incendiary grenade.

Aim the grenade at his feet. Throwing the grenade at the shield will make it bounce off and hit you instead!

Explosions and Rockets Will Not Affect the Shield

Any explosive damage done directly in front or at the shield will not damage Dozer at all. You can plan around this by aiming the explosion at his flanks, but his Blast Resistant trait will make it less effective.

Bullets Will Bounce Off the Shield

Any type of gun will cause the bullets to bounce off the shield. Do not bother shooting the shield as it will not wear down. If Dozer is standing, try aiming for his feet instead!

Some Vehicle Weapons Are Ineffective

Most vehicle guns like the EBAA Wildcat's AA turret or a T28's Machine guns will simply bounce off the shield. This makes Dozer a dangerous target that can close the gap and use C5's to destroy vehicles.

How to Use the Blast Resistant Trait and Explanation

Reduces All Explosive Damge

All types of explosions, such as C5's or Helicopter Rockets, will not be as effective at killing Dozer compared to other specialists. If you're going to use explosives to take Dozer out, make sure to double down on the amount!

Best Loadouts for Dozer

This loadout will focus on close-quarters combat by making use of SMGs or Shotguns. The Med Pen or armor Plate will help you recover health and keep you in the fight longer. If fighting against an opponent that's locking you down, throw a Frag Grenade at them and rush them down. Thanks to your Blast Resistance Trait, your frag grenades or C5s will not be enough to kill you.
