The year is 2042 and the world has changed for the worse. Freak weather storms, Rising sea levels, and the collapse of Governments have left 1.2 billion people displaced.

Unlike the previous iterations in the franchise, Battlefield 2042 will not feature a singleplayer campaign that players can immerse themselves in. The game will, however, feature an intricate story told through short films to illustrate why the world of the game is at war.
