Best Attachments for Close to Mid-Range

The loadout for both close to mid-range prioritizes increasing the shotgun's firepower without any detrimental attachments affecting its already crippled range. The K8 Holo is the first option for short-range, allowing you a clear view of the environment surrounding your target without zooming in too much, which the 8R Holo with #4 Buckshot ammunition is much more effective at. At its default setting, the MCS-880 is a relatively weak shotgun to start with, and there is some struggle with registering hits or kills with it if left unmodded.

Best Attachments for Long Range

The long-range loadout for the MCS-880 is meant to increase the weapon's range to more acceptable levels without sharp declines from its firepower or handling. Choosing a Slug Shell will allow the weapon to deal more direct damage against opponents per shot, with the 8R Holo providing effective sights to a weapon that, realistically, should only be used for close-range scenarios.

Best Specialist for MCS-880

The MCS-880 is a rather weak utility weapon, only excelling in close quarters. As such, it is best to pair the weapon with a Specialist that has good mobility, or is capable of either negating damage or simply seeing where enemies are positioned.

Paik	Due to the MCS-880's weakness over distances greater than 40 Meters, Paik's EMG-X Scanner can allow her to see and track enemies even through cover, allowing her to maneuver for close-ranged shots.
Dozer	SOB-8 Ballistic Shield allows Dozer to defend against enemy fire while maneuvering closer towards them, where he can pull out the MCS-880 for closer-quarter kills.
Mackay	Nimble Trait allows Mackay to quickly dart from cover to cover, even while under fire, while being able to return shots without much difficulty due to his trait. This makes it easier for a player to freely move around in order to get close with shots from the MCS-880, as it prevents enemies from being able to attack Mackay without interruptions from counter-fire. Grappling Hook Specialty can also be used to gain vertical advantages over opponents, allowing for headshots to become more possible with the shotgun.
