The Cooking Contest is one of the simpler Contests/Festivals in the game, where players must cook the best Dish possible with the best Ingredients they have at their disposal.
To begin the Contest, talk to Simone with your dish equipped to your hand. Hand the dish to her at any time between 11:00 and 18:00 to begin the contest. Apart from being able to start the contest from her, you may also learn more about the rules of the contest from her, as well as who the most favored character to win is.
The goal of the contest isn't just for the player to craft a dish that comes from an intricate recipe – what matters more is how much of your stats it can replenish. The more your stats can be recovered with your dishes, the better off you will be in the contest.
To achieve this, players must cook with high level ingredients, even if they intend to make simple dishes. The simplest way to achieve this is to select dishes that are primarily made through vegetables that you can plant – use the Sickle then on these vegetables to develop high level seeds, which you can replant for high level vegetables in turn.

The Bamboo Rice is a dish that you can start making fairly early on. You will only need two primary ingredients for this dish – Rice and Bamboo. The only downside to this dish is finding Bamboo Shoots that are high level enough to provide you with substantial stat replanishment. A Level 4 Bamboo is recommended for this, although using anything higher levelled is the best way to ensure a win.
Alternatively, you can achieve the same results with the Pickled Turnip dish. Turnips are generally easy to grow, and thus easy to harvest high level seeds from that in turn give you high level Turnips.
Result | Points Needed |
---|---|
1st Place | More than 350 Points |
2nd Place | More than 289 Points |
3rd Place | More than 284 Points |
The Points for the Cooking Contest shall be based off of how much HP and RP a dish the player prepares can replenish. Having higher replenishment leads to a higher point rating overall for the player – you will need at least 350 Points to take the highest ranking in the contest.
