How Romance Events Work

Appears on the Map as a Pink Icon

Romance Events - Pink Icons
When a Romance Event is available, it will appear as a Pink Icon on the map with the relevant character. Upon going to the location of a Pink Icon, a Romance Event will begin.

Multiple Romance Events can appear at one time. If you go past another area with a Pink Icon on the way, that Event may accidentally be started instead. Checl your route to make sure you can start the Romance Event you want.

Only One Romance Event at a Time

RF5 - Romance Events - Must Complete Current Romance Story

When a Romance Story is listed as active on the Events panel of the Ranger Notes screen in the menu, no other Romance Stories will be available. Also, if you try to ask another character out on a date, you will be rejected regardless of your Friendship Level.

There is no way to cancel a currently-active Romance Story, so players must complete the current Romance Story to free up space for a new one.

Three Date Events per Character

Rune Factory 5 - Three Date Events
Besides the specific Romance Stories available for each character, there are specific date events which occur when you are already in a relationship.

Three of these exist for each character, and will fill the same slot on the Events screen as a Romance Story. These dates are required to marry that character.
