This is a guide to Squid Catch Contest, a Contest Festival held on Winter 13 in Rune Factory 5. Learn how to win Squid Catch Contest and all the prizes available for 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, and participation.

The Squid Catch Contest can be started by talking to Simone at the Festival Grounds at any time beginning at 11 AM onwards. However, this will only "register" you into the event – you must talk to her again between 17:00 and 18:00 with your squids to reach the tallying and judging segment of the event.
You also cannot try to give her the Squids before these hours, so just wait for 17:00 or 18:00 with your caught Squid to trigger the final phase of the contest.
The primary of the contest is for players to bring Simone plentiful amounts of Squid. The source of each squid from fishing does not matter, so long as players are able to get any caught squid back to Simone between 17:00 and 18:00.
Talking to Simone past these hours will result in a disqualification.
It may seem like an easy way to win if you have enough Money, but using store-bought Squids for the contest won't be counted for the final tally when talking to Simone by the end of the day.
You will have to truly grind it out by fishing for enough Squids by yourself to win the event.

Squids can generally be caught in the same manner that you catch other aquatic creatures like Salmon or Shrimps. There are several places where you can start your search, but the most consistent of these is the fishing spot on the 2F of the Bandit King's Old Base.

Unlike other contests, the Squid Catch's points is measured by way of the amount of Squids that you have caught. Players will need more than 9 Squids to gain the top rank in the contest.
