Giving Presents Increases Friendship Level

On a character's birthday, if you give them a present, the action will generate a so called "special reaction" from them, which is different from when giving characters their Liked or Hated gifts.

Gifting characters their presents on their birthdays is an excellent way of increasing your Friendship Level with them, which affects your prospects of Dating or Marrying a character.

Players can also receive gifts on their own birthday, which they can choose at the beginning of the game. The only caveat of this interaction is that players must at least have a Friendship Level of 5 with a character in order for them to gift you with items.

Certain characters will gift you rare items on your birthdays, so it is recommended that you target them for their gifts.

You Can Fill the Calendar With Birthday Reminders

The last activity that players can do gravitates more to the side of remembering the birthdays of their friends or other characters. A character's birthday, if players get to know them, will appear in their calendars. This allows for a quick and easy reminder for players of when a specific character's special day is.
