Confessing your love is the first step to kick-start a wonderful romantic journey with your love interest in Rune Factory 5. Read on to learn the prerequisites to confessing your love and how to successfully confess to your love interest!

To successfully confess to your love interest, you must have reached at least frienship level 7 with them and have seen 2 Romance Events prior to confessing. Completing these preqrequisites unlocks an additional option while talking to your love interest which allows your to make a confession. If the confession is delivered successfully, congrats! You officially become lovers with your lovie.

You can confess your love to someone during conversations through the “By the way” prompt using the L or R button. Take note that you cannot confess to characters who are already married.
After successfully confessing, you are to go on a first date with your lover! Likewise, they will ask you which pet name or nickname to call each other. If a confession fails, you can always try again, ideally at a higher friendship level.
You will need to go to three of these dates in to start unlocking Romance Events. The first three of these dates that players go on will be considered as Special
which is reserved only for you and your lover.
Available Romance Events appear as a Pink Icon on the map. Upon going to the location of a Pink Icon, a Romance Event will begin.
Every bachelor and bachelorette has their own Romance Event and sequences where they confess their love to you. Depending on how serious you are with your love interest, you can either accept or reject their confession.

If your confession has failed, check and see if you have no other Romance Events active apart from the Romance Events of the love interest you're pursuing and that this love interest is not married.
When those are all taken account of, and the confession still fails, fear not! You can try confessing again at a higher friendship level! The minimum friendship level required to confess is Lvl.7, but you may have more luck once your relationship has reached Lvl.10
