This is a walkthrough and story guide for Gadeus Grasslands in Rune Factory 5 (RF5). Read on to learn more about how to reach and complete Gadeus Grasslands, important items to pick up, and strategies for defeating the Boss Monster!

How to Reach Gadeus Grasslands

New Request Board at Detective Agency
After joining Terry's Detective Agency, the request board outside the building will be unlocked. This request board will reward you with money, along with other items.
Obtain Silver and Rubies
Ore deposits for Silver and Ruby are found in Gadeus Grasslands. You will need these minerals to make better weapons, farm tools, and accesories, so try to get as much as you can while passing through.

Break the Cracked Boulders
If you check your map while in Gadeus Grasslands, you'll find two tunnels on the north and south edge of the main area. These two are blocked by cracked boulders that you can break with your hammer.
The north tunnel contains a Medipoison while the south tunnel contains a Shine. The Medipoison magic, in particular, in incredibly useful because it cures the Poison condition.

Avoid the needles on its back
The needles on Needle Beast's back can deal damage on contact. This additonal damage, on top of the damage from Needle Beast's attacks, will drain your HP very quickly.
One of Needle Beast's attacks can shoot the needles from its back, which will make it vulnerable on all sides. Until then, take the boss head on and try to dodge its swipe attacks.

Raise Your Level to Around 50
The recommended level written on the signboard at the entrance of Gadeus Grasslands is 35, but it is recommended to raise your level to around 50 since enemies in the area are closely grouped together.
If you can grind to at least level 50, you will be able to survive a few hits from the enemies even if they gang up on you. You should also have gear that are around Level 30.
Prepare Antidotes and Para-Gones
There are enemies in Gadeus Grasslands that can inflict Poison an Paralysis. The Poison status will deal continuous damage while the Paralysis status prevents you from running.
Prepare some Antidote Grass and Para-Gones (can be bought from the clinic or made with Indigo Grass) before entering Gadeus Grasslands, especially if you're planning to grind levels in this area.
