This is a guide on the Starfall (Star Shower) weather in Rune Factory 5 and the Starfall Seeds you can get from it. Learn about how to farm Starfall Seeds and how to use Starfall Crops, all Meteor Locations, and what all you should do during Starfall weather.
List of Contents
Starfall Weather will occur rarely on random days, and is indicated by the icon of a shooting star in the Weather icon next to the current time of day.
If you're hunting for Starfall Weather, it's possible to skip days by sleeping repeatedly until the weather occurs, but keep in mind that skipping lots of time can affect other aspects of gameplay like your Crops and relationships with the villagers.
On the day after the Starfall Weather occurs, you can find Meteors lodged into the earth in set locations around the map, which can be broken with the Hammer to obtain materials including Starfall Seeds. The chance of getting Starfall Seeds improves with the quality of your Hammer, so use the best Hammer you own when mining them.
The Killer Griffin is a rare enemy which only appears during Starfall Weather in a specific location in Phoros Woodlands. Using the Spell Seal on the Killer Griffin can sometimes yield the Mealy Apple item, which can be used to upgrade armor to powerful heights once you have sufficient RP to use it.
The Spell Seal can only yield one item per enemy when on the same map, so if you aren't able to get a Mealy Apple on the first go, warp to a different map, then warp back. These items will be highly useful in the long run so it's a good idea to farm these when you have the opportunity.
In each of the areas shown in the maps above, one Meteor appears per area. The location it appears in within each map will be randomly chosen from those shown, but be sure to find and obtain each of them.

Saving and reloading the game will allow you to collect Starfall Seeds indefinitely. Since Starfall Seeds are highly useful for recruiting Monsters, it's a good idea to stock up as many of these as possible, so taking advantage of this exploit will be to your benefit in the long run.
Season | Available Crop | Profit |
---|---|---|
Spring | Starfall Strawberry | 16000G |
Summer | Starfall Corn | 16000G |
Autumn | Starfall Pumpkin | 16000G |
Winter | Starfall Potato | 16000G |
Starfall Crops can be sold for a high profit once grown. However, they require one 2x2 plot of land to grow, and can take over 10 days to fully grow, so this cannot be said to be one of the fastest money farming techniques in the game.

Starfall Seeds can be used to tame certain Monsters. They're often liked by Boss Monsters, but since they will not work 100% of the time, it's a good idea to stock up on them to have enough ready in advance to tame Boss Monsters.
A certain lake in Phoros Woodlands contains a fairy who will give you a specific item when you throw a Starfall Crop into the lake. The obtainable item depends on which Starfall Crop you use, and a total of four can be obtained in this way.
Crop | Exchangeable Item |
---|---|
Starfall Strawberry | Spring Headdress |
Starfall Corn | Summer Headdress |
Starfall Pumpkin | Autumn Headdress |
Starfall Potato | Winter Headdress |
Thanks for the guide!! You don't need to close the game after saving, just loading works too.
