Standard combat and puzzle difficulty is the best difficulty setting to choose for the Silent Hill 2 Remake. The standard difficulty lets players experience a balanced gameplay between horror and the wonderful story of the game.
Light combat and puzzle difficulty is for beginners or first-time players who want to experience a Silent Hill game for the first time, or for players who are starting out in the horror genre in general.
Hard difficulty for combat and puzzles is for experienced veterans and hardcore fans of the game. This difficulty is only recommended if you want to have an awful, horrifying, and challenging experience.
Interface Presets can also affect the difficulty of the game especially the Retro option which will turn off all the tutorial, loading screen hints, ammo display, quick time event icons, etc.
Whichever puzzle difficulty you chose during your first playthrough of the Silent Hill 2 Remake is the best puzzle difficulty for new game plus since you are more familiar with all the safe codes, keypads, and combination locks for that difficulty.
For combat difficulty, light is the best if you are attempting to speedrun the game. With light combat difficulty, it will be easier for you to defeat enemies and bosses.
