Shining your flashlight on a semi-exposed or distant Mannequin long enough will cause it to momentarily flicker, but also force the Mannequin to fight you.
Use this tactic to reposition or lure out Mannequins.
Even on Hard combat difficulty, it takes just 2 shots from the Handgun to cause a knockdown.
Perform a melee attack after it gets knocked down to open it for a quick finish.
While acquired a bit later on in the game, the Shotgun is best at quickly dispatching these nimble enemies.
The Steel Pipe is equally effective, but the Mannequin's evasion often draws out a fight.
Move | Description |
---|---|
Leg Jab | The Mannequin attempts to strike you with its upper left leg. You can see when it will do this move. |
Evasive Straight | The Mannequin does a dodge when you're melee attacking and will counter with a Leg Jab. |
Double Punt | The Mannequin will try to hit you with both of its upper legs. Faster than a Leg Jab. |
Body-Check | The Lying Figure stands its ground and will slightly shake. It then leaps a short distance and will pin you if you do not evade in time. |
Lunge | The Mannequin stands in place and will look like it's shaking. It will then jump at you, which you must dodge, or else you'll be pinned. (Quick Time Event is required to escape) |
Starting from the Wood Side Apartments, you will occasionally run into Mannequins while exploring building interiors as you progress through the game.
The Mannequin is a monster that looks like two fashion dummies stitched together, consisting of two pairs of legs.

The Mannequin stays completely still to disguise itself and ambush victims. When disguised, even the Radio does not pick up a Mannequin's presence. While it has no ranged attack, it can evade.
A new Mannequin type introduced in the remake. These look like regular Mannequins, but without feet. They are faster and can move along walls. They're primarily attack by lunging at you from walls.
