Here's how to beat Flesh Lips in the Silent Hill 2 Remake. Check out our guide for the boss fight walkthrough and information on the Flesh Lips encounter!
The ceiling tiles where Flesh Lips is about to emerge will slightly shake, warning you to avoid that area.
Tiles that are broken remain broken for the rest of the fight, so use them to help keep track of Flesh Lips whenever it retreats.
Whenever Flesh Lips comes out from the ceiling, you will see that its hand is grabbing one of the supports. Shooting it causes the monster to drop and be momentarily stunned. Use this strategy to get in some melee attacks.
During Phase 1 of this fight, focus on melee as that helps you more easily break Flesh Lips's cage.
Once it enters Phase 2, it's faster and more aggressive, but also squishier since the cage no longer protects its body. Use your guns to whittle down Flesh Lips from range. Like in the original, the Shotgun is particularly effective here.

Stomp | Flesh Lips raises its right limb before bringing it down. It then alternates with its left and marches forward. (Does 3 to 4 of this) |
We fight Flesh Lips at the last leg of the Brookhaven Hospital area. Laura tricks you and locks you in a room with Flesh Lips by stating that there's a letter there from Mary.
Flesh Lips is a monster that looks like someone trapped in a cage. The frames of the cage are actually its 'limbs'.

In the original Silent Hill 2, you have to fight 2 Flesh Lips at once, shooting at them as you move to evade when they come towards you. There is a third Flesh Lips you'll have to dispatch after dealing with the first two.
The new Flesh Lips keeps much of the original design, but has newer mechanics to make for a more thrilling boss battle. While you fight just one Flesh Lips this time, it has a whole new set of moves other than just trying to grab you.
Once you break Flesh Lips's cage, it enters its 2nd Phase, becoming more nimble and aggressive.
