Discarding a Key Item

After a Key Item has lost all its uses, a trashcan symbol will appear on it in the inventory. This means you can throw the key item away now.

It May Be Necessary

There will be moments where you will have a full inventory and will have to make space to pick up an item you need in order to progress, or pick up an item with a high value, and you can not combine anything.

In these moments you will either have to find an Item Box to store your items, or simply discard an item you do not think you will need in order to save time.

Not All Items Can be Discarded

There are certain items you can not discard. These items include:

  • Key Items that are needed to progress through the story or unlock items and areas (After it has been used completely, the game will tell you when you may discard it).
  • Non-throwable weapons like your guns and knife.
  • Weapon upgrades that can be combined with weapons.

Everything else, like gun powder, ammunition, healing items, and grenades are all discardable.

Depends on the Situation

This will be up to the player. Generally, it is best to avoid discarding items, as they are not recoverable and it will be a waste of resources. But if the item you want to pick up is necessary at the moment, it is not entirely bad to discard a less useful item.

The best practice to avoid discarding is to put items you feel like you have no uses for yet into an Item Box.
