What Happens When You Get a Game Over?

Samus Dies and The Mission Fails

When you lose all of your energy, the game abruptly ends with Samus screaming before flatlining. Players are then shown the Mission Failed screen.

Game Reverts Back to a Save File or Checkpoint

Mission Failed
Upon a mission failure, you must select to load a save file or start from a checkpoint where the game last auto-saved.

This causes you to lose all items picked up and logbook entries scanned from the checkpoint or save file, so make sure to save when you can!

Skip Cutscenes
All cutscenes that you viewed prior to dying are skippable. Simply hold the A button to skip the scene.

Energy Level Warning

Pay attention to your energy levels at the top of your screen. When all of your Energy Tanks are depleted, a warning flashes on the screen stating you have low energy. Once it reaches zero, the game automatically ends.

When in combat, pick up energy orbs dropped by enemies and containers. These help provide short bursts of healing that can help you win the fight.
