	Shot Expansion 1 Area: Sol Valley Far Northeast Required Upgrade: Super Missile How to Get: After completing Great Mines, grapple up on top of the bridge and use a Super Missile to destroy the door with the four red circles. Go through the Morph Ball tunnel to find the upgrade at the end.

	Large Shot Expansion 1 Area: Entrance to Flare Pool Required Upgrade: Psychic Boost Ball How to Get: At the Entrance to Flare Pool, find the "Small Sized Cargo Launcher". Enter the launcher with Morph Ball, and use Psychic Boosts to spin around the inside chamber until it launches you to the other side.

	Shot Expansion 2 Area: Cargo Launcher Required Upgrade: Fire Shot How to Get: Cargo Launcher to the Temple of Memory. Then at the entrance of Fury Green, go past the cannon to find this area. Near the door to Fury Green, burn through the webs to find the upgrade at the end of the path.

	Large Shot Expansion 2 Required Upgrade: Psychic Grapple How to Get: Go under the bridge leading to Great Mines and use the Psychic Grapple to get across to a platform holding the upgrade.

	Shot Expansion 3 Area: Fallen Labyrinth Shrine Required Upgrade: None How to Get: In the main room, drop down and use the Morph Ball to enter a hole in the base of the main platform. Find the upgrade inside.

	Shot Expansion 4 Area: Rings of Stone Shrine Required Upgrade: Control Beam How to Get: In the final room, look back and up to see a hole with psychic energy coming out. Shoot a Control Beam to find a target in the hole, opening a Morph Ball tunnel. Go through to find the upgrade.

	Shot Expansion 5 Area: Northern G.F. Debris Required Upgrade: None How to Get: Shot Expansion given by Tokabi after meeting him at least twice in different parts of Sol Valley. Return to this spot or reload the game if he doesn't appear.

	Shot Expansion 6 Area: Floating Path Shrine Required Upgrade: Psychic Glove How to Get: On the far side, drop down and grab one of the Psychic motes. Place it into the Psychic Node in the pillar to reveal the upgrade.

	Shot Expansion 1 Area: Fountain of Tranquility Required Upgrade: Fire Shot How to Get: After unlocking Fire Shot and Ice Shot, find the room from the Cleared Path. Freeze the first fountain, move the psychic node, then freeze the second fountain. Jump up the two frozen fountains to reach the Shot Expansion on top of the middle pillar.

	Shot Expansion 2 Area: Cargo Staging Area Required Upgrade: Thunder Shot How to Get: After unlocking the Thunder Shot, use it on both sides of the container in the adjacent room to open it, revealing the upgrade.

	Shot Expansion 3 Area: Rods of Transference Required Upgrade: Thunder Shot How to Get: After unlocking Thunder Shot, return to the Sacred Flame Ceremony room and use the Thunder Shot on the corresponding door. Move each of the pylons to the bottom, and have them face the spire in the middle. Then, shock all three with the Thunder Shot to open the spire and reveal the upgrade.

	Shot Expansion 4 Area: Isopod Lair Required Upgrade: Fire Shot How to Get: This shot expansion is encased in a webbing-like material. Getting this requires the Fire Shot first.

	Shot Expansion 5 Area: Jungle Path Required Upgrade: Fire Shot How to Get: Use the Fire Shot to burn the web, then use Morph Ball and Morph Bomb to reach the upgrade.

	Shot Expansion 6 Area: Ravine Outlook Required Upgrade: Fire Shot How to Get: Use the Fire Shot to burn the web, revealing the upgrade.

	Shot Expansion 7 Area: Sacred Flame Ceremony Required Upgrade: Fire Shot How to Get: Use the Fire Shot to open the door. Inside, use your psychic powers to push the lenses on the floor; align the lenses with the flower buds to reveal 3 wicks, which you can light with your Fire Shot to reveal the upgrade.

	Shot Expansion 1 Area: Tower 1 - Generator Required Upgrade: None How to Get: This shot expansion is an a random box that is easy to miss. Found on the special route to the bottom in Tower 1 of Volt Forge, only available when you return for the 2nd time to get the Thunder Chip.

	Shot Expansion 2 Area: Tower 1 - Manufacturing Floor Required Upgrade: Psychic Spider Ball How to Get: From the bottom of the Manufacturing Floor, have the crane pick you up in Morph Ball form, then continue ahead to find a Magnetic Track. Ride the track with Psychic Spider Ball then Block the Electric sparks. Go up the right side path and wait behind the first grey tile, then go up to reach the top. Go a bit to the right to get to the platform.

	Shot Expansion 3 Area: Tower 1 - Collapsed Catwalk Required Upgrade: Psychic Lasso How to Get: Scan the grate and pull it off with the Psychic Lasso to reveal a Morph Ball track. Go inside and defeat the robot in the way to reach the upgrade.

	Shot Expansion 4 Area: Tower 2 - Archives Required Upgrade: Psychic Lasso How to Get: Scan the circles on the backs of the lower two containers where the cranes are holding them, then pull them off with the Psychic Lasso. Climb up after they fall down to reach the highest one, and scan and Lasso its connector to drop it down, revealing the upgrade.

	Large Shot Expansion 1 Area: Tower 2 - Elevator 3 Required Upgrade: Psychic Lasso How to Get: Scan and then Psychic Lasso the circle in the ceiling, then as the Morph Ball, drop a bomb, then right before it explodes drop another bomb, and immediately drop another in the air; they will explode in succession, allowing you to bounce up and reach the upgrade.

	Shot Expansion 5 Area: Tower 2 - Storage Required Upgrade: Psychic Glove How to Get: Scan the Psychic mote near the middle of the room to find a Psychic Grapple Point. Use the Psychic Lasso to grapple up to the high platform and reach the upgrade.

	Shot Expansion 6 Area: Tower 2 Generator Required Upgrade: Psychic Spider Ball How to Get: From the edge of the Generator platform, use the Psychic Spider Ball to go across the Magnetic Track, then jump across the gap using the Tether Nodes. The upgrade is hidden in a box on the other side.

	Shot Expansion 1 Area: Bio-labs - Cryopod Conveyor Required Upgrade: Psychic Grapple How to Get: Use the Grapple to pull down two sections of the Morph Ball course running above you along the walls. Enter the course near the Bomb Slot and go through to the end to get the Shot Ammo.

	Shot Expansion 2 Area: Power Station - Lower Airlock Required Upgrade: Psychic Bomb How to Get: After restoring the power on the bottom floor, find a now-activated Bomb Slot over a gate which you can throw a Psychic Bomb into to open the gate. The Shot Ammo is in the tank on the wall close to the entrance.

	Shot Expansion 5 Area: Snowfield Required Upgrade: Fire Shot How to Get: Melt the ice door with the Fire Shot and use the Morph Ball to get the upgrade inside.

	Shot Expansion 6 Area: Equipment Storage Required Upgrade: Psychic Spider Ball How to Get: After getting the Psychic Spider Ball, go up the Magnetic Track on the wall to reach the upgrade.

	Shot Expansion 7 Area: Security Gates Required Upgrade: Missile Launcher How to Get: Shoot the cracked glass with a Missile, and go through with a Morph Ball to find an upgrade.

	Large Shot Expansion 1 Area: Power Generator Required Upgrade: Psychic Spider Ball How to Get: After unlocking the Psychic Spider Ball, ride the Magnetic Track and launch off with the Psychic Boost Ball to reach the Tether Node. Swing across and find the upgrade on the Magnetic Track on the opposite side.

	Shot Expansion 8 Area: Surgery Conduit Required Upgrade: Psychic Boost Ball How to Get: In the Morph Ball course, go up to the ledge with the advancing wall of lightning sparks. Charge the Psychic Boost Ball and release it with good timing to avoid the lightning and get to the right side. Use a Morph Bomb to blow up the floor and grab the upgrade below.

	Shot Expansion 1 Area: Inspection Station Required Upgrade: None How to Get: Use the Morph Ball to go through the tunnel and reach it under the floor.

	Shot Expansion 2 Area: Undercarriage Required Upgrade: Missile Launcher How to Get: Shoot the metal with a missile to reach it.

	Shot Expansion 3 Area: Lava Lake Bridge Required Upgrade: Psychic Spider Ball How to Get: Use the Psychic Visor to scan the Psychic Rail Boost, then enter it and use Psychic Boost Ball to reach it.

	Shot Expansion 4 Area: Volcano Heart Required Upgrade: Vi-O-La IC Suit How to Get: Return to the Volcano Heart after beating the boss here to find it on top of the lava.

	Large Shot Expansion 1 Area: Energy Injection Required Upgrade: Thunder Shot How to Get: Use the Thunder Shot on the switch in the wall to make the conductors come out of each wall. Thunder Shot the one close to you, then run to the opposite wall and Thunder Shot it within the time limit.

	Shot Expansion 5 Area: Energy Injection Required Upgrade: Psychic Grapple How to Get: Grapple to the upper platform, then look for hanging hooks you can grapple onto. Continue to the top to reach a platform with the upgrade.

	Shot Expansion 6 Area: Pressure Monitoring Required Upgrade: Thunder Shot How to Get: Open the door requiring the Thunder Shot. Scan the cover on the machine in the next room and use the Psychic Lasso to pull it off; then, shoot it 5 times with the Thunder Shot to reveal two upgrades.

	Shot Expansion 7 Area: Lava Lake Bridge Required Upgrade: Psychic Spider Ball How to Get: With the Psychic Spider Ball, use the Tether Nodes to launch yourself up while avoiding the steam from the vents. Find the upgrade at the top.

	Shot Expansion 8 Area: Scrapyard Required Upgrade: Psychic Power Bomb How to Get: Use the Psychic Power Bomb to blow up the debris, then use the Psychic Spider Node to climb up the Magnetic Track and reach the upgrade.

	Shot Expansion 1 Area: Level 1 - Command Center Required Upgrade: Psychic Lasso How to Get: On the ceiling, find a latch you can open by scanning it, then using the Psychic Lasso. The upgrade is inside.

	Shot Expansion 2 Area: Level 2 - Main Shaft Required Upgrade: Psychic Spider Ball How to Get: Scan the Psychic aura to make a Psychic Boost Rail appear. Ride the rail to get the upgrade.

	Shot Expansion 3 Area: Level 2 - Crystal Crevice Required Upgrade: Psychic Grapple How to Get: Instead of grappling across the gap on the Crystal Crawlers, look behind you on the wall of the entrance to see a Crystal Crawler. Grapple up then jump across the tops of the rock to find the Shot Expansion on the farthest rock.

	Shot Expansion 4 Area: Level 3 - Main Shaft Required Upgrade: Psychic Spider Ball How to Get: On the side of the building, find the blue switch with a Magnetic Track next to it. Shoot the switch to activate the Magnetic Track, then go up the track with the Psychic Spider Ball. On top of the building, use the Control Beam to reach down to hit the switch again and reactivate the Magnetic Track, and ride it to the top to reach the upgrade.

	Shot Expansion 5 Area: Level 2 - Quarry Required Upgrade: Super Missile How to Get: Use a Super Missile on the door with red circles to reveal a Morph Ball track. In the track, use Morph Bombs on the panels to rotate sections of the track. Rotate the panels to create a path to reach the upgrade.

	Large Shot Expansion 1 Area: Level 1 - Garnbocask Site B Required Upgrade: Psychic Power Bomb How to Get: Use a Psychic Power Bomb to destroy the ore wall. Find the upgrade in the room on the other side.

Shot-Expansion-Effect

Shot Expansions are collectible items that increase Samus' maximum elemental Shot Ammo Capacity by 10. These upgrades apply to your Ice Shot, Fire Shot, and Thunder Shot once you have the necessary upgrade attached by MacKenzie.

Different from Missile Expansions

Missile Expansion Acquired

Shot Expansions are specifically tailor-fitted towards elemental shots and will not affect your Missile Ammo. The Missile weapon has a dedicated upgrade called Missile Expansions and can be collected in Viewros separately.

While exploring each major area, head to Save Stations to replenish your Energy and Ammo, as this is particularly useful in the early game when Samus still has no upgrades.
