Metroid Prime 4 Walkthrough
Learn How to Lock On and Fire
Upon gaining control of Samus, walk forward until your first tutorial pops up. Learn the basics of combat: Hold ZL to lock on to enemies, then press A or ZR to fire Power Beams from your Arm Cannon.

Jump Over Obstacles
Shoot down all enemies in the following area. Then, press B or L to hop over short obstacles in your path. Jumping will help you get over the barrriers blocking your way forward.

Shoot Blue Doors Open
You will come up against a door. Shoot doors with A or ZR to open them. Make your way through for a cutscene.

Scan Green Doors to Open Them
Then scan the door in front of you to open it. Press X to bring up your Scan Visor, then hold ZL to scan the door to open it. Make sure to remember this, as scanning is quite important, and you can scan many objects and enemies in the world to know more about them.

Use Morph Ball to Get Past Fire
Press on through the area, opening doors and defeating enemies until you reach fire blocking your path. Press Y to use the Morph Ball ability to turn into a ball. Roll under the fire and press Y again at the other end to end the ability. You will encounter another cutscene past the door at the end of this corridor, and a fight against enemies.

Use Space Jump to Get Up
Essentially a "Double Jump", press B or L while in mid-air to use the Space Jump to boost yourself up to where the indicated door is.

Shoot Vent and Enter It
Continue onwards into the building, defeat the enemy leaning against the wall and shoot the nearby vent and enter it using your Morph Ball ability with the Y button.

Use Morph Ball Bombs to Get Through Vent
When you get to the end of the vent, you will reach the vent grills, which can be destroyed with the Morph Ball Bomb. Press A or ZR to place one right next to the grill. Move onward and do the same thing for all the following vent grills that block your way. At the end, you will drop into the middle of a fight.

After clearing out the enemies in the area, scan the big door. Then, you will have to solve the door puzzle: Lock On to the door, then at the same time, use Free Aim with the right analog stick to hit all 4 glowing orbs. Do the exact same to the second door.

You will encounter your first boss: Aberax. Make sure to shoot the weak points on its chest to defeat it. You can shoot the bouncing green orbs to avoid damage, or use the side dash and jump to avoid projectiles. The Prologue ends after you beat this boss.

Access Map With Minus Button

The Map can be opened with the “-” button. On the map, you can see where your next destination is, and you can zoom in or out to get a better view of the path you need to take. Note the map controls at the bottom of the map screen.

Press R to Launch Missiles

While locking on to an enemy, press the R button to launch missiles, while are limited in ammunition. You can see how much ammo you have at the bottom right of the screen.

Hold A or ZR to Charge Shots

Hold A or ZR to charge your Power Beam for more powerful shots. Doing so also allows you to attract pickups on the ground from far away.

  1. Shoot Aberax' chest weak points.
  2. Shoot the bouncing green orbs before they hit you.
  3. Side dash to avoid projectiles.
  4. Jump to dodge shockwave.
  5. Jump to dodge the green wall attack.
