When Can You Discard the Lock Pick?
The Lock Pick can be discarded once you've entered the Underground Storage. Past this point there will no longer be doors or lockers that require the Lock Pick to be opened, allowing you to safely part with it.
Lock Pick
The Lock Pick opens up multiple lockers and areas that can contain useful items used throughout the story. For this reason, the Lock Pick is one of the most imporant Key Items in the game. If you attempt to get rid of it too early you may find yourself in a pickle!
When to Use Lock Pick
Lockers and Rooms
The main use is to open up lockers or rooms with a variety of goodies that will aid you in your journey through Racoon City.
Substation
The Lock Pick becomes necessary when attempting to access the Substation where you will need to turn the power on in order to get the train moving again.
Reception
The last location the Lock Pick is required is in the Hospital, right before you venture into the Underground Facility. After you have sucessfully helped out Jill with Carlos, you will head to the Underground Facility through the Hospital Reception where there is a locked door to pick open.
Where to Get the Lock Pick?
From the Story
You can get the Lock Pick by examining the case on top of the corpse near the Control Room at the Substation's entrance.
Through the Shop
You can also purchase the Lock Pick from the shop for 2.800P. Purchasing it this way will automatically put a Lock Pick inside every Storage in the game. Keep in mind that the shop only unlocks after the game has been completed at least once, so if you do not have access to the shop you may get stuck by tossing the Lock Pick.
