Special Moves in Pokemon Champions deal damage that usually involve energy based or elemental attacks such as fire, water, or psychic blasts rather than direct physical contact. These attacks use the Pokemon's Sp. Atk (Special Attack) stat. The higher it is, the more damage a Special move will do.
On the other hand, the Sp. Def (Special Defense) stat will reduce the damge taken from Special Moves. The higher the Sp. Def stat, the less damage a Pokemon will take from any Special attack.
