Pokemon Champions - What Are Base Stats
Base Stats are the values that determine a Pokemon's basic stat spread in Pokemon Champions. Read on to learn what are Base Stats, what other factors affect stats, and if you should memorize each Pokemon's Base Stats.

What Are Base Stats?

Determine a Pokemon's Basic Stat Spread

Base Stats determine a Pokemon's basic stat spread before they get affected by Stat Alignment, Training, or Battle Mechanics such as Stat-Changing moves.

This usually determines the Pokemon's role in battle. For example, since Garchomp has a high Attack stat, it is good at damaging opponents with physical attacking moves.

Training may Increase or Decrease Stats

Stat Point System

It is good to note there are other mechanics that also affect stats. For example, a Pokemon's Stat Alignment or Natures may boost one stat and lower another. Players can also allocate Stat Points or Effort Values (EVs) to further increase certain stats.

It is not necessary to remember all the base stats of each Pokemon. However, memorizing the base Speed can help you predict the turn order in each battle. If a Pokemon has higher base Speed, it is more likely to move first.

Keep in mind, however that Stat Points also affect turn order. For example, a Meowscarada with a positive Speed Stat Alignment and Full Speed Stat Points can outspeed a Dragapult with no Speed Stat Alignment and 0 Stat Points in Speed.
