Xuan Wei can have a hard time in PvP since his kit is reliant on his tether and melee attacks. To counteract this, he'll want to use weapons that are easy to use and Artifacts that can help him stay alive so that he can get in range.

Xuan Wei's kit is great at dealing AoE damage and killing off groups of enemies in melee range. This means that he wants to use a PvE build that can increase his damage output in close range and have a weapon that can deal with tougher enemies, like bosses.

・Requires a more dedicated build since it play differently from other shotguns.

In PvP game modes, Jotunn is a reliable gun because of its ability to lock on and track targets. As for his Heavy weapon, Eternal Retribution is used because it's also a reliable option with its full-auto shotgun blasts.

However, as a note, you can also use the Octant Riot Disperser instead for powerful full volley blasts, but you may find yourself reloading more often than you like if you do this.

Octant Riot Dispenser is one of the best guns in PvE because its firing mode can be swapped around, helping you kill off mobs of enemies or tougher foes, depending on the situation. This means that Xuan Wei needs to use a Mythic weapon for his Primary, and his only option in that slot is the IST1 Parantha.

For PvE game modes, Xuan Wei can rip through mobs of enemies, as long as he can reach them. This means that you'll want to use an Artifact set that maximizes his damage in melee range, but you can also opt for a more defensive set if you find yourself dying often.
