Resurrection
Zev chooses a departed soul in the library to be resurrected and become a Lightbearer. Next, she wants to lead her chosen one out of danger.

How to Unlock Resurrection

First Quest

Resurrection is the first mission you receive. This primary quest automatically activates upon starting the game.

Exit the Library

Jump using A on controllers
Once you gain control of your character, go through the illuminated archway to leave the room. Along the way, follow the prompts to jump onto higher platforms.

Take the Gun Next to the Body
Approach the body near the bookshelves, and follow the prompt to pick up the gun on the floor near him.

Use Your Gun to Defeat the Fallen
In the next room, there are two Fallen enemies. Use your newly equipped gun to shoot at them by pressing the right trigger on controllers, the left mouse button on keyboard and mouse, or tapping the fire button on mobile touchscreen.

Aim at the Fallen Enemies
Proceed into the next room. More Fallen will be here. Aim at them, so they're easier to hit, and shoot until you defeat them. You can use the destroyed bookshelf for cover against their attacks.

Dialogue Options when talking to Zev in Resurrection
Continue onward until you find yourself outside. A cutscene will play, and dialogue options will pop out. These dialogue options won't affect the story, but they can help you learn more about this world.

Take note that yellow dialogue options indicate that the conversation will progress or end.

Double Jump on the Glowing Spots
Continue into the next indoor area. Follow the path until you get the tutorial for how to double jump. Stand on the glowing spots then double jump while moving forward to reach the higher platforms.

Use Your Melee Ability Against the Wretch
After crossing the gap and going up the stairs, you will be met with a Wretch wielding a spear. Approach it and follow the prompt to use your melee attack against it. Do the same for the next Wretch you come across.
8 Two more wretches will be in the next hallway. You can opt to use your melee attack or fire your gun at them.

Defeat the Fallen Blocking the Way
Grenade-throwing Dregs will be in the next rooms. Avoid their attacks and fire at them with your gun. Defeat all the fallen enemies you encounter, and follow Zev out the hole in the wall to exit the library.

The Old City

Switch Weapons
Go along the road until you enter an abandoned building. Go up the stairs, and Zev will tell you that there is a grenade launcher that you can pick up.

Use the Grenade Launcher Against Enemies
Equip the grenade launcher. The door to the next area will then open. Aim your weapon, and fire your grenade launcher at the enemies below. Take note that each grenade can take out multiple enemies at a time if they're close enough together.

More Enemies at the Bottom
Once they're all defeated, drop down and follow the path. In the next area, there will be more enemies. Take them out with your grenade launcher or auto rifle before dropping down again.

Defeat the Wretches Outside the Concert Hall
Go through the tunnel made of shipping containers, and make your way to the concert hall. Wretches will block your path, so defeat them using any of your weapons.

Use the Sword Ability Against the Enemies
Inside the concert hall, you'll find a corpse with a long sword beside him. Draw the sword once the prompts pop up, then inspect it. Enemies will appear nearby for you to test out your new sword.

6 More enemies will pop up. Defeat them with any weapon of your choice. Take note that the sword ability has a cooldown timer, so you may not be able to use it in quick succession.

Help the Haven Militia
Go up and exit the concert hall. Keep following the road. Eventually, you'll run into the Haven Militia fighting against some Fallen. Help them clear out all the Fallen in the area.

Airship that Drops the Walker
Once all the Fallen have been defeated, an airship will arrive and drop off a large enemy. This is a Walker, the boss of this quest.

9 Defeat the Walker. A cutscene will then play, and you will be transported to the next area.

At the end of the Resurrection mission, an airship will drop a Walker down in front of you.

Target its legs to deal more damage until it collapses and reveals its core. Repeatedly attack its core until it fixes itself or is defeated. Repeat this to defeat the Walker.

Resurrection Rewards

No Rewards

There are no rewards for completing Resurrection. This quest is only meant to progress the story and serve as a tutorial for the game.
